My condolences.
When you get to sepsis shock, the organs do start shutting down, blood pressure start falling, you go from a 50-50 to a 20-80 odds on life.

While transferring hospitals, I only had a 20% chance to live.

I'm just thankful I have/had A Mighty Big God on my side.

You beat the odds! You must have a strong constitution to beat that. Must have hurt like a beotch though, but you're alive. So glad to hear of someone who beat it.

We'll give this thread a sticky for at least a few days just to get as many good vibes flowing Roy's direction as possible.

Glad you are doing better. My old man almost passed away from Pneumonia a few years ago, the doctors said if i had taken him about 4-8 hours later to the hospital he wouldnt have made it. He spent a good 2 weeks inside. When its not your turn, its not your turn! Glad you are doing better man!

Especially with a replacement. Dad had both his done and he said they lectured him pretty hard to get his ass in if they get hot or red because if you get an infection that’s where it is settling. FFS he has to take a round of antibiotics before he gets his teeth cleaned.

Bad business.

Amoxicillin as dental prophylaxis for endocarditis is pretty common in at-risk populations.

Yeah any valve issues have premed at my office.

Depending on the procedure for joint replacement but I er on the side of caution

God bless you man, sounds like you went through a lot and have a big battle in front of you. Try not to be overwhelmed by it all and just take one step at a time.

TwistedChief 06-27-2018 10:41 PM

Sepsis is way too often deadly...Mr RoyC75, hope that your recovery continues on a good path. God bless the docs nurses and whoever at whatever pharma developed the life saving treatment you got.
