If you don't want to watch it and keep the original sacred then by all means....go ahead. Who gives a shit though? There have been remakes that blew the original out of the water and some that haven't. |
I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike Connor McGregor any more than I already did, until after this movie.

What a horrible movie... jfc. How did anyone write that down and think it reflected the first one in the least?
|
Thought this was good for what it was, but I wish they leaned even more into the ridiculous camp. It’s such a dumb story and I think they grasped that in some scenes but less so in others.

Reminds me of J Peterman buying Kramers' stories in Seinfeld. |
I finally watched this over the weekend and holy shit...hilariously terrible.
McGregor's character is one of those where I legit have no idea what the hell they were thinking, it's one of the most ridiculous things ever put on film...all I did was just laugh at him and the utter bizarreness of it the entire time. Horrible ending too.... What a joke of a movie. |
They should have taken the same approach as 21 jump street or baywatch.
That said if you’re 20 and never heard of the original, it might have been enjoyable |

My JG faves gotta include Zodiac and October Sky. Gotta be in a very specific mood for Donnie Darko, but it's a good one. And yup, it's gay as hell, but Brokeback Mountain is pretty ****ing great. Does Spider-Man Far From Home count as a Jake G movie? I need to watch Source Code, I hear it's good. Admission... it's total cheese, but I just can't help it, whenever I catch Day After Tomorrow on, I have to watch. It's crap, but I love it. Watched Road House tonight. Not good, but I watched until the bitter end, so I guess that's something. Terrific sequences here and there, couple of laughs, but meh, I'm old and the original is the one for me. While ridiculous in its own right, it actually had competent actors; Swayze, Sam Elliott, Ben Gazzara, Kelly Lynch, Kevin Tighe, and of course, Terry Funk and John Doe. The clowns they got to surround JG were AWFUL. It was like a very high production value camera test. I kept waiting for them to look down to make sure they had hit their mark. Remake just wasn't satisfying, if that makes sense. |

Well, at least the San Gabriel Mountains didn’t mysteriously appear in Jasper, MO this time.
