Without a doubt Vanilla Fudge is the winner. They were also my first concert in 1968. I had just saw them perform on Ed Sullivan and a week later they were at the Armory in St. Petersburg. Carmen Appice is one of the greatest drummers of all time. For those that don't know, Diana Ross and the Supremes were the original and Kim Wilde of Kids in America fame performed a disco version in the 80's.

This one is close. Brandi is awesome:

Very nice!

But such a shame Brandi Carlile has transformed into a Booke Pryor look alike.

Not a cover in the true sense, but a hologram of a dead singer doing their hits with a live band. Ronnie James Dio who died in 2010 of cancer, has a hologram performing with a live band on a US and European tour. Here a video from Warsaw, Poland.

Very Cool! If this Dio comes to the Northwest I will be going.

I guess you can call this a cover but a always loved this great soundtrack composed by the great Ennio Morricone.

The Crusaders did this nice cover of David Fathead Newman's song "Hard Times."

Don't know if this has been posted, but if so, it's still worth posting again.

Joe South did the first version of "Hush," and it's quite good.

And so is the cover by Deep Purple:

Covering Gary Moore. He makes a fairly audible mistake here.

I'm a big Neil Young fan but I much prefer The Mission's version of "Like A Hurricane". The original is sparse and kind of jam-y while The Mission's goth version is more fleshed out and lush (after the first minute or so).

The new version of "Running up that Hill" versus the Kate Bush original. Can't post on my phone.

On a side note, I'm having a drink for our departed friend Big Meatball Dave who is no longer with us and missed the Mahomes Era like Saccapoo and Lonewolf Ed.

RIP our friends.
