Paying guys is tough, but giving up an extreme amount of picks and paying them?

Case and point: Frank Clark apparently sucks here. There’s a thread on it. Okay well who is performing? Tanoh Kpassagnon (1 sack-almost 2 in Oakland-a would be pick) and Ogbah (1 sack). Even though we paid a **** load for Frank, cheap labor is helping mitigate that “so called” error.

Sammy should be gone after this season. No problem. Hardman is here for 3 more years cheap.

Honey Badger is a huge price tag. That’s fine when you have Thornhill here for cheap throughout Honey Badgers contract.

If you want to do this deal and give up picks, fine. BUT do not bitch when we are not making moves like this in 2020 and beyond. I don’t care if the cap is going up. $40 million AAV QB with a lot of other expenditures like Clark, Hitchens, Schwartz, Fisher, Kelce etc.

Cap going up drastically just means player salaries will go up significantly as well. And yes Mahomes new contract will be tough even with the cap going up.

Yeah KPass....who took 2 years to even get decent.....which caused us to draft Speaks.

Is that the trajectory we are working for?

Late first round, solid cornerback is what we're talking about here. Byron Jones fits that description. You said all the solid cornerbacks come at the top of the 1st, which is obviously ridiculous.

So basically as a win now team our best hope is a guy that will take 3 years to be worth a shit.

Simplicity 09-20-2019 09:50 AM

For what it's worth Jalen did change his profile picture this morning to a picture of his chain. That was the last thing on any of his social media showing him in a Jags uniform.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-20-2019 09:50 AM

Look I think we’re a contender every year under Mahomes and Andy but I don’t think many of you realize. We won’t have a team this stacked maybe ever again in his career. We CANNOT waste this chance.

NE countered us with AB. We aren’t favorites right now.

Mecca 09-20-2019 09:50 AM

Someone should make a list of all of the CB busts....it's an extremely hard position to scout, draft and just get good play from.

T-post Tom 09-20-2019 09:51 AM

5000 by close of biz today. 6000+ if Ramsey is traded. 7000+ if he goes to Fade or Pats. Hope the server survives.

Blame Sutton for thinking KPass could be the first 6'-7", 290 lb. outside linebacker. For ****'s sake, why not make him a free safety, Grandpa?

This has actually been a nice test of the new setup. 750+ active users pretty regularly (1000+ right now) is pretty significant. In short, I think it's good to go for a while.

There are 1000 active users right now?

Here you go CB's in the last 5 years 27 and later...

Byron Jones
Tre'Davious White
Mike Hughes
DeAndre Baker

Are we excited about this list?

ForeverChiefs58 09-20-2019 09:56 AM

I think if it gets to 5,000 posts today before he signs, then he basically just has to go the Chiefs no matter what.

He really won’t have a choice in the matter. This thing is so much bigger than 1 person.

Don't be ridiculous. You asked for an example and now you call it cherry picking. LMAO

He's not the only solid corner drafted in the late first round or later, he's just the first one I came up with.

I'm all for PP and not Ramsey but I agree this year's team might be the best in the foreseeable future.

This year was always the year.

That's not saying that this team will not win championships in the future but the offense wont remain as good as it is this year.

It's at the bottom of the actual home page:

https://www.chiefsplanet.com/

Right now, we've got 161 members and 900 guests. Some of the "guests" are bots, and that number is over a 15-minute period, so it overstates how many people are really here RIGHT NOW, but it's a good measure of how much the server is being asked to handle at the moment.

We do tend to average around 1,000 logged-in, active users per day, though.

Another thing to really think about. Say KC wins the SB this year. Mahomes is established as a football God.

We’re bound to pick up 2-4 cheaper ring chasers a year that can help alleviate not having those picks. I could see us signing a WR like that next offseason. Maybe a DL.

Been saying this as well you do this trade.

Right now it's not the Chiefs it's the jags and their front office. Idk wtf they are doing but it does seem they are making a mess out of this. Asking too much and then playing him, then saying they want to pay him. It's just stupid I get they are probably trying to drive the price up but at some point you have to stop the ****ing games and trade the guy. He doesn't want to be there he's had pressers about it for ****s sake.

The longer they put on this clown show the cheaper he's going to get because I think teams are seeing through the bull shit right now and calling them on their ridiculous price.

I really don't understand the logic behind it.

AntGOATio_BrowGOAT 09-20-2019 10:12 AM

Ramsey wouldn't help much anyway, guys. Sorry to burst your bubble.

1. He's not that good. He would be the #4 CB on our team. The guy has been burned badly numerous times last year as well as in 2019.

2. He's not going to help your nonexistent run defense, or with the fact that your LBs and the rest of your secondary cannot cover.

Lot of quality corners available next Spring:

Aqib Talib
Chris Harris Jr
Jimmy Smith
Logan Ryan
Byron Jones

Also a lot of nice starter quality players

Trae Waynes
Bashaud Breeland-discount?
James Bradberry
Ronald Darby
Kendall Fuller-discount?

Talib and Harris Jr specifically have praised Pat.

UChieffyBugger 09-20-2019 10:13 AM

Not too many rumors today about Jalen. I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing tbh.

It won’t matter. The board will love spending that money and then bitch once the player doesn’t have all word stats (see Justin Houston, Frank Clark, Anthony Hitchens).

Then the board will bitch on draft day and FA bc we spent all of our picks and money on a questionable personality corner that is showing signs of having a similar problems as Marcus Peters.

It’s a vicious cycle.

AntGOATio_BrowGOAT 09-20-2019 10:30 AM

Ramsey will either be a Jag or a Patriot when it's all said and done.

He will either remain with the Jags, who are willing to give him a ton of money, or he will come to New England. He would be a solid #4 CB here. He would no longer have to be constantly burned by #1 or #2 WRs, and Bill will make sure to put him in the right position to win, as a rotational player on an already flawless secondary.

Simple. They don't want to trade him right now, and maybe not at all. In that division, they're right in the thick of it. They are weaker this season without him. Why not hold on to him until they get what they want? He survived playing a game last night without injury or incident. They can wait it out this weekend and see what happens to the contending teams who are interested, and maybe one will up their offer, or another team may emerge. They hold all the cards.

Aladin pump faking a big deal

Sassy Squatch 09-20-2019 10:38 AM

Uhh, isn't that a really bad idea, unless he's already committed to jettisoning his entire FO? You're pretty much going over their heads.

arrwheader 09-20-2019 10:39 AM

Yea seems like this one isn't imminent. It's going to go on for awhile.

This is called a hail mary. And Khan doesn’t look like Aaron Rodgers, so...

It's a non-story. Nowhere did Khan say he would make some record-breaking contract.

It's ASSUMED in the headline, based off comments that he'd be willing to pay him, comments that were already discussed several pages back.

Which is a no-shit, and does not matter.

Jalen will get paid no matter where he goes.

Generally speaking, being pot committed means having arrived at a point in a poker hand at which folding to any bet or raise has become an incorrect play. Such a situation is determined by pot odds and how those odds compare to your chances of winning a hand.

This is happening.

Confidence level on a scale of 1 (little to no confidence) to 10 (guaranteed)?

If they're willing to pay Ramsey, I think he can get over his upset with the FO and I don't see why the FO would quit on him.

That flawless secondary gave up an average of 325 yards, 3.5 TD’s and 1 pick to the MVP last season. If that’s flawless than I’d say the chiefs are fine to stay put considering they only gave up an average 340 yards, 1 TD and 1 pick to Brady last year. I know it’s not a fair comparison since one defense got to go against an aging veteran and the other had to face the MVP, but I think most people know there’s nothing “flawless” about that Patriots secondary when MVPat is involved.

These stories are based off the same damn comments.

But a little bit of creative writing caused completely different reactions right here in this thread.

It would only really be news if he said the opposite (that he would never pay him)

We need to storm Arrowhead and force Bimp Veal to trade for Jaden Ransom at gum point!!!!

Ramsey will get paid no matter what so it doesn't matter what Khan says.

It's not as if the Jags ever said they WOULDN'T pay him before his trade request.

He wanted to be paid this pre-season and they said they wouldn't. I think if they offer him what he wants, he'd stay. That's just a guess obviously.
