Plus he's got over 100 million in the bank, is extremely well rounded and intelligent.

I'd imagine he's got some investments that will make him a shit load more, can use his knowledge to go open a Architectural firm and make bank.

He's not in a terrible spot by any means.

Guys get hurt, all those guys have gotten hurt a lot, playing 16 games.

That's not on the league. That's on the teams.

Brady is the outlier. Rodgers, Cam, Luck, Alex Smith, Tannehill, Marriotta, etc.
all these guys are starting QB’s who missed considerable time.

Nobody wants to watch games with the backup unless it’s an Alex Smith/Mahomes situation, which is very rare.

If Mahomes is ever out for the year, I’m checked out

Yea, no amount of money is worth living in constant pain. And living in constant pain is not much of a life at all.

Also, holy shit did it take Luck retiring for me to read that the Colts left Baltimore because the city tried to seize the franchise via eminent domain?

Exactly. So hopefully Mahomes retires after his contract. It's just not worth it.

If he wants to, go for it.

It would suck for us as fans but it's his life.

I made the Gladiator comparison not as a one to one but as a modernized type of situation. They are slowly killing themselves in terms of their quality of life. The fans just want to be entertained and don't care about the player's well being, but the owners care more because that's their cash cow, so their health is slightly more important, but not by much.

Yep and make sure he does it two-weeks before the start of the season. It's his life. No big deal.

If he's about to spend the season on IR like Luck was, sure.

I sat through Scott Pioli and Matt Cassel. I survived. I didn't enjoy it, but my life writ large wasn't materially impacted.

This argument is dumb.

Yeah must have been so hard playing football with Tom Brady and making millions of dollars in the process. **** out of here with that bullshit.

No hate for Gronk though he retired and gave Pats plenty of time to adjust unlike Luck.
