Honestly, I think the Cowboys are smart doing this.

First off, it makes the locker room happy, and the fans to an extent.

Second, it shows other players in the league that they will pay them.

Third, they are getting all these in before the next CBA where the cap is likely to jump and the team will have even more money, thus making these large contracts look bad now, but very palatable later.

It would be smart of the Chiefs to do the same with Mahomes. Give him $40 million a year before the new CBA kicks in and his agent can ask for even more.

We will have to see how it is structured because the current reporting is 6 year extension on top of his already 2 years left on his deal so it would be for a total of 8 years.

Huge mistake. Jerry is desperate and he doesn't have an elite QB that can win without a stud defense and a pound it RB. They will regret this contract next season.

They are a 6-10 squad without him.

Too much hysteria over contracts that are going to be nbd by the time the actual new money portion would really kick in.

The Chargers reportedly want a 1st and 5th for Melvin Gordon.

LMAO

Everybody talks about the Amari, Zeke, and Dak contracts.. so where does that leave Byron Jones? Is he the odd man out? I would love to be able to trade for him, but I don’t think it’s very realistic since the cowboys actually have a shot to go deep

Sassy Squatch 09-03-2019 06:35 PM

Goff getting the largest guarantee in history it sounds like.

Just waiting for that CB trade that will never come..

It is clear that other teams are asking a lot for any decent CB that Veach might be interested in.

Jerok 09-03-2019 06:52 PM

I'd give a 3rd for Melvin. But then I'd have to pay him... but a 1st and a 5th? GTFO

The market for a corner is like OT and QB. Very small and expensive due to lack of quality around the league.

I wouldn’t hold my breath

ChiefoftheKeyboard 09-03-2019 07:05 PM

If the chiefs aren’t planning on signing jones then we could recoup a few picks next offseason in a trade if we trade away some picks for a CB now. Either way I say we go all in for a SB
