This is true. If only Andy had two weeks to gameplan and work through the strengths of the line we DO have, we MIGHT have stood a chance. Since that is somehow not the case, we're simply doomed.

Dunerdr 01-26-2021 12:07 PM

I never went back to watch game tape but in game i thought Wylie looked more competent as a right tackle than guard at times. Any one else feel this way? I mean he did have Cam Jordan steaming mad.

Aspengc8 01-26-2021 12:11 PM

They'll be fine.

Wylie actually played tackle before.

Yea, I agree. Wylie looked better at RT than he ever has at G.

Do you think your defense is better than SF last season?

Please try to beat the Chiefs with the pass rush. In fact rush 6 every down

The one who was getting beaten the most was Fisher against Hendrickson iirc??. And I remember Chiefs talking heads praising Wylie after the game and suggesting that he could replace Mitch long-term if Mitch doesn't come back.

For the folks that are worried about money, I hope you remember that Veach was ready to spend on Andrus Peat.

I mean thank Christ it didn’t happen but he will find a way

It’s a plus to me bc Wiz is on the field and he’s a good pass protector. He did an excellent job last year.

He’ll help big time

Yea exactly we’re clearly worse at T, but I’d argue that we’re better on the interior.

Andy’s always don’t a good job protecting his T’s when we’re vulnerable there. Remember when we were freaking out about Jah Reid going up against Watt?

smithandrew051 01-26-2021 01:16 PM

Tampa has an elite run defense, so I’m guessing Andy will only be running in very short situations and to keep the defense honest. We’ll see a few jet sweeps as we always do to make them pay if they’re overly aggressive.

If we lose, you have to think that means that JPP and Barrett absolutely wrecked the game. They’ll need every bit of the 5 sacks they had against Green Bay and probably a dozen QB hits to go along with it.

Barrett is good, but probably overrated. Here are his season sack totals

2015 - 5.5
2016 - 1.5
2017 - 4
2018 - 3
2019 - 19.5
2020 - 8

2019 is pretty clearly an outlier. My guess is that he’ll settle in to being a 7-10 sack player for the next few years.

JPP is really consistent over the last 5 years: 7, 8.5, 12.5, 8.5, 9.5.

Suh had 6 sacks this year, but has only had 2 since Week 9. I don’t expect him to be much of a factor. He’s really more of a name than anything right now.

Devin White also had 9, so we’ll need to make sure we pick up the blitz.

Chiefs with Fisher: 27-1
Chiefs without Fisher: 4-6

This hurts me to say it, but we might need to explore (gulp) trading a star for Oline.

Things have really come full circle. LMAO

New World Order 02-08-2021 02:42 PM

Yeah, if there’s no Fisher injury you put Niang at RT, reeruniff at RG, draft center/guardin the second/third then allegretti at lg/center and the line is looking pretty good.

Fisher injury hurts

Sofa King 02-08-2021 02:52 PM

LDT is just really not that good either. He should also be replaced if possible.

Megatron96 02-08-2021 03:05 PM

Let's hope that Fisher's injury isn't too serious and he might be able to return some time in the second half of the season. Hopefully we'll get some news in the next few days/weeks.

We have far too many holes. We'll need him to hold it down for at least next year. Probably the year after too.

An achilles injury is long term.

royr17 02-08-2021 03:14 PM

So should they bring back Kelechi Osemele ? I was happy with how Nick Allegreti played. So question is Osemele or Allegreti ?

9 months is the normal recovery time for athletes.

Terrell Suggs returned in 5 months.

Doubtful. I'm guessing late Oct. at the earliest. More likely November.

I think I was wrong. They are saying missing 50% of season.

Didn't realize how bad the injury and timing really was.

I doubt anyone talks shit about Fisher ever again. :harumph:
