The Boys, HL and his kid will join forces. |
Love the show, but that ending with Homelander was ridiculously on the nose.
|
I was very "whelmed" with the finale. Didn't hate it, but it didn't blow me away. Not sure what I was expecting, but it just didn't feel like it lived up to what I was expecting, if that makes sense?
I'll say Anthony Starr did a pretty great job playing Homelander this season. And goodness Maeve and Kimiko are just hot af. |

Yeah, giving Banshee another go is a good idea. I made it through a season+ before it fell off the radar for no good reason.
|
Kind of hard for the finale to live up to the 2 episodes before it. Those were 2 of the best episodes in the entire series.
I thought it was a good finale though. |
Banshee 1-3 were terrific. Just pretend season 4 doesn't exist. It was bad.

The question isn't do these things sometimes happen because they do. We all know they do. Propaganda happens. The question is how much or how far does government really fabricate or play a hand to manipulate? Do they embellish the truth or go full Alex Jones and serve interdimensional lizard NAMBLA's for the galactic council? I can see why people believe almost any position in the full spectrum of that argument. Well, most positions. |
Yeah kind of a weird episode to end on. Felt like they were too neat with how the soldier boy shit "ended" and nothing was really advanced. Just seemed like an episode to reinforce what will be at stake season 4.

I haven't read anything up to this post, I am midway through season 2, and this show is simply fantastic.
I just saw the part where Butcher drives the speed boat through the sperm whale and lost my shit laughing. Good god this show is gold. LMAO |
I'm finally getting into this. S1;E4. Can't believe I've waited this long. So far so good, I think I'll binge it.
|
can't get into this season, that guy that dates starlight is extra cringe now
|
Kinda feel like this show has jumped the shark a bit.
Not a very memorable end to the season. |

I finished season 3. It’s been very very good.

I binged the season and enjoyed it but I was disappointed that the finale left the show pretty much right where it was when the season began with only minor changes going into next season.
|
I'll go out on a limb and predict that next season either Homelander or Butcher or both will die and then be resurrected by the finale.

Or could Homelander end up destroying the entire world and he left to rule over an ash heap... could see them working in some sort of shitty political message there.

That's a very real fear for Vought, and from what I read concerning this show a new Black Noir is coming into the fold. |

Oh really? Fans of the comic should have some idea of the plan there, then.

So I just binged this season over the last week or so.
It was definitely better than Season 2. Man, as an aside, Kimiko is just freakin' beautiful this whole season. And yes, I get it, it was super on the nose with the MAGA stuff and yeah, conservatives are caricatures. I can't bring myself to give a shit. It's Seth ****ing Rogan writing it, of course this is what he's up to. I thought it was a really good season that was damn entertaining. Though I'd be totally cool with them moving on from the 'Deep ****s fish' thing. We get it. That joke's pretty played out at this point. |

Because really, there's just nothing for Butcher at this point. He's gone. He's a shell of a human being who barely even wants to live and even at that, he'd be fine dying if it meant taking Homelander out with him. Once Becca died, the end game was written for Butcher, IMO. I'm not convinced he even cares about Ryan other than NOT wanting him raised by Homelander. So if Homelander dies and Butcher goes out in the process, Butcher's gonna see his promise to Becca fulfilled. From a strict storytelling arc, there's just no redemption even possible for Butcher at this point. So why bother with it? He's a broken man with no foundation left to cling to. |

Finally got around to finishing season 2.
Homelander is an incredible antagonist. The actor’s faces and mannerisms are just ****ing perfect. He’s even got the dead eyes look locked down. He plays a perfect psychopath. I’m pretty excited to see Dean Winchester in the third season. |
I was hoping the bump was an announcement about the next season... damn.

Well I’m like 4 episodes into season 3 and Soldier Boy hasn’t shown up yet. I’m getting impatient.
Homelander deciding to drop the facade on national TV was a great consolation for the time being, though. |

I burnt through that season. It was good.
I really liked everything with Soldier Boy but that final showdown was a mess. .. really pissed off I didn’t get a chance to see Soldier Boy vs Homelander & Black Noir. |

This is why I don't like series story as much as traditional movie format tale. I actually had to think if Black Noir was still alive trying to recall where story left off. https://dannydainton.files.wordpress...g?w=816&h=9999 |

If you love The Boys... you are going to love this. Just got done with the first 3 episodes. I can't believe they didn't promote this more than they did. It is the same world as The Boys and it is just as good if not better.

Maybe I'm just too old; couldn't make it through the first episode. Seems like it's all been done before.
Maybe I'll pick it up again in the future. |
