'Hamas' Jenkins 07-19-2013 07:20 PM

Mickelson had a weird round. I've never seen someone putt so terribly and yet make so many putts. He made a shitload of putts from 6-12 feet, but lag putted like a 24 handicap. Some of the putts he hit were just shamefully bad.

Gotta figure Woods is in good shape. Several guys who could win it, and any one odd bounce could flip it.

O.city 07-19-2013 09:40 PM

It's almost getting unfair. I like to see it tough, but shit man. When those guys land a W 25 yards short from the middle of the FW and it still goes long, things are getting a little out of hand.

The greens are too fast right now, that's for sure. You can't have greens that fast with wind that high.

Braincase 07-20-2013 09:05 AM

Tiger currently with a share of the lead.

TribalElder 07-20-2013 09:30 AM

Lee Westwood can suck some American dingaling

I always felt like he was an arrogant prick

OnTheWarpath15 07-20-2013 10:30 AM

Schwartzel just drove the green on a 448 yard Par 4.

The fairways are playing like an airport runway.

tk13 07-20-2013 10:40 AM

Hunter Mahan's in at -1. He has to be pretty happy with that.

He should be. He could be the 54 hole leader in an hour or so.

If Westwood pulls this out and Tiger tanks, Tiger's going to tell his swing coach "Him or me". Sean Foley has recently taken on Westwood as a student.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 07-20-2013 11:22 AM

Every putt that doesn't go in for Adam Scott feels like a victory for me. **** that putter.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 07-20-2013 11:58 AM

Westwood schooling Woods on the greens the last two holes.

True. Can't imagine Westwood putting like this tomorrow.

tk13 07-20-2013 12:12 PM

Westwood and Mahan will be the last group most likely. Tiger will be in the 2nd to last group.

tk13 07-20-2013 12:25 PM

Mickelson really hasn't set the world on fire, but within everyone falling off he's going to finish today in the top 10 too.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 07-20-2013 12:26 PM

10 guys at +2 or better.

Some talent in the group at +3, but it's a stretch.

O.city 07-20-2013 01:40 PM

Westwoods putting won't hold up tomorrow, if history is any type of indicator. Tiger is playing pretty well right now, as is Mahan.

I dont' see anything better than 68 out there tomorrow so I think -1 will end up winning it.

KC_Connection 07-20-2013 05:23 PM

Although I worry about him choking, I think Westwood finally gets it done tomorrow. And as solid as he's played, Tiger's major track record in these contending situations in recent years hasn't been good. I'm probably not going to fully believe he can do it again until I see it.

Scott also has a good chance if he keeps playing steady and makes a few more putts.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-20-2013 11:34 PM

Westwood has putted out of his ass for three straight days. It's possible that such a streak continues, but even in great golf tournaments a player usually does not do something better than they are capable of for four straight days.

His putting will disintegrate tomorrow, and so will he.

The tournament is pretty open. Even par will win it.

He just hasn't given himself enough looks at birdie. Not that there are a ton of birdie holes out there, but he is constantly fighting to save par, and he hasn't dropped in the 30+ foot bombs like Westwood has.

O.city 07-21-2013 06:49 AM

Any of you assholes up early this morning to watch this?

My prediction is that Westwood chuts it away. Best ball striker on tour, terrible putter and really has an unpredictably terrible shortgame due to the fact that he flips at it thru contact and loses the angle (how a tour player can do this, is befuddling to me) and I think it all catches up to him today.

If you can finish under par, you win today. I think Mahan is in a good spot.

O.city 07-21-2013 06:58 AM

And IMO, you just can't have a links golf course have it's greens this fast and hard. Normally, IIRC, links greens play fairly slow in terms of tour standards.

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 07:16 AM

Tiger already throwing shots away. Has been a trend with him on weekends in majors of late.

O.city 07-21-2013 07:17 AM

Yeah, Tiger got a bit unlucky in regards to his second shot hitting soft, but what a terrible short put.

O.city 07-21-2013 07:24 AM

Unless Tiger figures out that the greens are slower than they were yesterday, he's in trouble.

And when green speed changes like that, he usually doesn't figure it out.

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 07:33 AM

Poulter's figured out the greens.

British people would be my guess.

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 07:47 AM

He's on fire. If Poulter can post a number anywhere around the score he has now, he's got a great chance.

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 07:49 AM

Poulter defines the word ' douche'.

O.city 07-21-2013 07:54 AM

Tiger has always struggled with greens that change speeds during a tourny. I think he's in trouble.

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 07:54 AM

Tiger fading. No real surprise.

O.city 07-21-2013 07:56 AM

It's still early to deem him done, but I think he's in trouble.

I still think over par wins this thing.

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 07:57 AM

Tiger doesn't have it. He is pressing. Even or + 1 wins it.

TribalElder 07-21-2013 08:04 AM

I wouldn't mind seeing Westwood crumble under the pressure

His tears would be quite tasty on Sunday at the open

Old Dog 07-21-2013 08:08 AM

400 yard drive for Poulter into the bunker on 15

O.city 07-21-2013 08:13 AM

Looks like another weekend meltdown for Tiger at a major. It's become the norm for him.

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 08:18 AM

Westwood looking good. Should have a 3 shot lead in a few minutes. Of course, he's fallen apart in these things before and there's a long way to go.

As much as I don't care for Westwood, he looks to be today's winner

O.city 07-21-2013 08:26 AM

If Westwood can make putts like he's doing, he's the best player on tour type potential.

TribalElder 07-21-2013 08:31 AM

It's amazing how these guys block out everything and play.

One look at my score when I'm doing ok and bring on the bogey train

Well he is a former #1 for a reason (although that was mostly due to his all-world ball striking ability).

O.city 07-21-2013 08:37 AM

Terrible shot by Westwood there and a terrible result.

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 08:37 AM

Westwood snaps

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 08:38 AM

Stupidity from Westwood there, but it may not cost him anything if he makes the putt.

TribalElder 07-21-2013 08:39 AM

lol. He must have seen the scoreboard LMAO

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 08:41 AM

Another huge one dropped by Westwood. The stupidity didn't even hurt his score.

O.city 07-21-2013 08:41 AM

Westwood putting out his ass here and Tiger can't make shit.

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 08:41 AM

Westwood looking like a winner

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 08:43 AM

Is it just me or is Scott Van Pelt getting almost as annoying as Berman?

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 08:51 AM

Tiger is pretty terrible in all aspects of his game right now. Nothing like he was the first 3 days.

He's always been annoying to me, but it's still better than Berman. I like Tirico, though, he does a good job at everything he does.

O.city 07-21-2013 08:53 AM

That birdie Tiger missed on the previous hole is going to be huge.

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 08:54 AM

Scott continues to play steady golf. It's moved him temporarily into the lead.

kstater 07-21-2013 08:58 AM

No worse than Tiger. Scott's the only one in the last 2 pairings playing well right now.

TribalElder 07-21-2013 09:06 AM

3putt on deck for lee

TribalElder 07-21-2013 09:07 AM

Nope, great putt

TribalElder 07-21-2013 09:09 AM

Phil needs to creep up and steal this thing

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 09:10 AM

Westwood's putting is completely bailing out the rest of his game. Unusual.

Mahan gets right back into it, while Tiger continues his poor play.

kstater 07-21-2013 09:14 AM

Insanely good promo there

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 09:15 AM

Tiger coming unglued

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 09:15 AM

Amazing how Tiger is managing to hit one of his drives into deep rough today after how he hit the ball Thursday through Saturday.

TribalElder 07-21-2013 09:18 AM

on sunday he crumbles

that's his new modus operandi

kstater 07-21-2013 09:19 AM

That ought to do Tiger in. Barring a couple birdies to get to +1 and a prayer.

O.city 07-21-2013 09:20 AM

Westwood is a good enough ball striker that he'll stay in it til the end, but he'll miss enough putts to just not win.

Story of his career.

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 09:20 AM

Scott is playing fantastic right now. And unlike Westwood, he's also got all the confidence in the world to win this.

O.city 07-21-2013 09:21 AM

Tiger is going to have to play -4 golf the rest of the way in to have a chance.

TribalElder 07-21-2013 09:21 AM

theopen.com is so fail

they stream 3 holes and fill two other channels with ol' chaps havin a gabby time over tea

usopen.com streamed the whole thing online

theopen needs to step their game up

It's a mental block of his right now at majors. Has been for the last few years. I still think he'll win another major with all the opportunities he gives himself each season, but this is clearly not going to be something easy to overcome.

O.city 07-21-2013 09:23 AM

I thought even would win it, but I think -1 ends up winning it.

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 09:23 AM

Fat Phil making noise

KC_Connection 07-21-2013 09:24 AM

All Phil needs is 1 over the last 4 holes to reach his target score to win (E). Not sure it will be enough, though.

O.city 07-21-2013 09:25 AM

If Phil could get in at even, he'd be sitting really pretty.

TribalElder 07-21-2013 09:26 AM

phil needs to post 2 under LMAO

then sit back and watch westwood come up short on the way in

BlackHelicopters 07-21-2013 09:29 AM

Interview with Poulter proves douchiness.
