They went way over slot for this pick.

The Royals also signed all of their undrafted free agents;
https://www.royalsreview.com/2020/6/...20-draft-class The Royals also agreed to terms with seven undrafted free agents: catcher Kale Emshoff of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, outfielder Tucker Bradley of the University of Georgia, catcher Saul Garza of LSU, right-handed pitcher John McMillion of Texas Tech University, right-handed pitcher Chase Wallace of the University of Tennessee, left-handed pitcher A.J. Block of Washington State University, and first baseman Matt Schmidt of the University of Michigan. Teams can offer undrafted free agents no more than a $20,000 bonus. |
It's hard not to like the infusion of talent. Doesn't mean any/all will pan out, but it's a good shot in the arm.

I wonder how schedules will be broke down. It will be in the new 10 team divisions. 9 teams and 60 is not a good divisible number.
My take would be: 6 games home/away with other 9 teams in division 6 games home/away with geographical rival ie St. Louis |

Bold prediction. Royals finish 22-38

So will teams throw their top starters more often? Seems reasonable since they will have less starts.
