Dallas Braden. A's are the only team he ever played for.

TBS is in commercial now, which is about the only thing that could stop Pedro's Ned rant...

Bambi 09-30-2014 11:27 PM

tk13 09-30-2014 11:32 PM

It's funny. I think Yost's real dumb move was that running play with Butler. Yost should be getting killed for that, it was indefensible. It's the flipping playoffs though. I don't think the Ventura thing was mind-numbingly dumb. All pitchers should be ready to go, especially in an elimination situation.

Yes but Ventura wasn't the right option there, that was a bad position to put him in. Oh and I totally agree about the Butler thing, this is the Majors...that play isn't going to work here.

TambaBerry 09-30-2014 11:35 PM

Funny thing is the A's were the best team in baseball. They go out and trade cespedes for Lester. They in turn suck and lose the wild card. Now Lester will go back to Boston and Beane gets raped in that trade.

RINGLEADER 09-30-2014 11:36 PM

I got from LA to SF listening to the game - pulled in and got to the hotel lobby to see the last inning.

Wow. Just wow.

The hatred of the Oakland fans upon seeing me walk in at that moment sporting my Royals hat was priceless. Almost got me killed, but was totally worth it.

Why Not? 09-30-2014 11:41 PM

Few things

1. Never been so excited at the ending of a game. I was to young to really give a shit in 85. Jumping around the living room with my wife like a bunch of crazy people. Can't believe we didn't wake the kids.

2. I echo what almost everyone else has said in this regard. You guys are awesome. I am so happy for the city. I can't wait to proudly display Royals gear around Phoenix tomorrow.

3. Icarus, you are the ****ing man! Never lost faith, not even for a second. Let me know how I can send you my casino cash. Next time your in AZ, lunch is on me

4. As far as I'm concerned, we are playing with house $ now, so let's go **** with the Angels a bit.

5. Never been so proud to be a KC fan as I am after the past two nights.

Was Lester's deal with one year on his contract so he's a free agent? Am I understanding you correctly?

Butler had some clutch hits too, but that was way earlier in the game

Finnegan wins it for me, 21 year old rookie out of college goes in and locks it down for almost 3 innings in extras... insane.

I have to say that this was the best game of baseball I have ever watched. And Yost should still be fired. The Butler steal? Really? Ventura out of the pen? But I did enjoy the win.

SPchief 09-30-2014 11:58 PM

ROFL Nice wish I could be there!

Hootie 10-01-2014 12:02 AM

I had ZERO issue with Ventura out of the pen to start the 6th. None. I said as much.

I had a HUGE issue to him coming in against Brandon Moss...

Brandon Moss has a career TERRIBLE line against lefties. So bad.

Finnegan should have been the guy to come in and get ONE out.

Now, he was instrumental later for 7 outs...

but that's not the point

After Shields came out in the 6th...you either stay with him there, or bring in a LOOGY

Plain and simple.

Bring in Ventura after the LOOGY if you'd like, and if he sucks, he sucks...

I had a HUGE problem with bringing in a righty against Moss with 2 on there...terrible decision.

The last six innings without a dip after they put up the runs in the sixth. I had a dip in during that inning.

Three7s 10-01-2014 12:09 AM

Well, I gotta say, this was, without question, the greatest sports game I've ever witnessed. Nothing even comes close, and that's coming from someone that saw KU tie Memphis on a buzzer beater in the NCAA Championship Game and eventually win it. This game>>>>>>>>>>>>>that by an infinite amount.

I can't even remember the last time I screamed at my TV like that when Salvy got that hit. It was just magical, all you can say.

I HOPE THIS NEVER ENDS!

bsroyals54 10-01-2014 12:11 AM

Lol I was switching positions in the recliner whenever things were going bad, whenever we had a rally i was sitting straight up, laying down for the defensive innings haha

okcchief 10-01-2014 12:11 AM

I'm really pissed at myself for not making the 2 day trip. I'm jealous of those who attended both games. I'm gonna try to go Sunday but it depends on getting someone to watch my kids because those tickets look too high to pay for 4 seats :) Though if forced I may do it. May not have another chance.

Best 24 hours I can remember as a KC sports fan. Tonight I jumped around in my living room with my kids like I did with my brother in 85 game 6 and that's pretty ****ing cool.

Sweet dreams all :)

Prison Bitch 10-01-2014 12:15 AM

The issue was the 3 LH coming up. You have to go Finnegan or Duffy there. And he brought in Herrera after who also couldn't get them out. Duffy murders LH. He pitched one day earlier than Ventura. That made zero sense. Even shields has no split difference.

But Ned pulled a lot of strings late, nearly all that worked. So who knows

Strongside 10-01-2014 12:17 AM

Just got home. I HAD complaints about this game, but I don't give a **** about those now. I'm going to enjoy the fact that I just watched one of the great playoff baseball games of all time live, and that my team won said game. I'm on cloud 9. This is absolutely incredible.
