Meh, it still a wise policy as often as not IMO

Certain teams might get the call more often, but it still seems like a coin flip chance for just about anyone... 3rd and 20 on the opposing 45? oh yeah, go for it if you think your QB and intended receiver are any good

Speaking of coaches, I was bored looming back thru some of martys coaching staffs.

The 91 staff was stacked.

Dungy, cowher, Arians, Saunders.

I forgot Mccarthy was here for a while as well.

It was a great staff. The irony that 3 of those guys went on to win titles as HC, yet Marty never did

Yeah, they put some coaching talent out.

Don't forget about OL coach Howard Mudd, OC Joe Pendry, intern Marvin Lewis and future head coach Herm Edwards.

Things would go sideways for them on 3rd down so they'd just launch it deep. I believe the Giants actually build a 'break' into the 3rd down routes where they'll have a designated receiver who has an option to break a route and just run downfield for hail mary.

And yeah, it's extremely smart, IMO.

Yeah this happens once in a while and lot of teams miss the truth to the situation. If it's 3rd and a lot from a spot where your punter can easily get the ball inside the twenty, then just throw it down in that area anyway. Baring a huge return it's going to come out even at worst. Best is a catch or a PI.
