Gotta admit I'm digging the Jets' crowd tonight. They're amped up.

Nevermind. |
Where the hell is everybody...... oh, it's 2 on 4, they must be sitting back. Oh, now the Jets have a 4 on 2.... :banghead:

What’s crazy there has not been one overtime game yet although the Panthers and Bolts could be heading to one. Tied at 2 with 5 to go
Finally an overtime game coming up
All 3 of penalties have been odd, not helped by ESPN's replays.... never did see why Hellebuyck fell backwards like he did for the first Jets PP. The 2nd Avalanche penalty wasn't exactly a trip, but can definitely see why they saw it that way. And didn't seem like much of a hook on the replay of the Jets penalty, if there was one at all.
But again, would be nice if ESPN showed better replays (like when it took them half an hour to show the goalie cam the other night). |
Last time it took this long to have an overtime game was back in ‘97
Wood.
What a bizarre goal. I'll take it though.
Bit of a brain fart by Hellebuyck, I'll take it.
Makar takes a dive. /Leafs fans
That was pretty
Not great, needed more urgency to match the Jets there.
....and then that happens. |
Well, can't fault Georgiev for that one.
I don't get that PP at all... the Avalanche spent 3 minutes just sitting back and the Jets weren't having any of it. And then they had a few rushes and would back out to setup again. They're so well known for fast, crisp passing on the PP and were in no hurry at all.

Avs deserved that freeby. Frustrating game...
Hellebuyck has looked great except when he's looked like ass.
He was not going to be denied. I was a season ticket holder for UND Fighting Sioux when Parise played there. Instantly became a favorite because of his work ethic. His dad was one of my first players I followed when he played for the North Stars

Helllebuyck isn’t looking like a potential Vezina winner. 10 allowed in 5 periods

MacKinnon. Freaking laser beam pass.
Great finish to the 2nd. |

Georgie is giving me a glimmer of hope he can pull it together...
Woot. We have a series.
Props to Georgiev. Stepped up when he needed to. 1st period looked shaky for everybody. But the team really figured it out and played solid. Back to Denver in great position.

The Jets are deeper and I think it shows, but there's an extra day off before game 3 and a good opportunity to put some pressure on them (and pretty sure MacKinnon and Makar aren't human and don't ever get tired).... hopefully Girard will be back, but with Drouin already out they don't have much room for injuries on offense. I didn't watch the 3rd, but want to go back and watch post-2nd period PP again sometime... it was such a huge swing, it almost didn't feel real. LMAO |
In case anybody missed this save yesterday. Just amazing natural athletic ability that cannot be taught...

Much as I hate on Marchand, he's a hell of an offensive hockey player, no pun intended. Makes a lot of plays and brings it in every game.

Noice. Very slick goal. But just shaking my head at how hard it is to score in this game. Both teams are playing great D.
Just to carry it across the line and have any time to look and do anything has been rare. |
You simply can't allow a goal like that in that spot if you're Samsonov. Unacceptably bad.
At my cabin with no tv currently so listening on xm radio. Sounded like Reaves was throwing his weight around
Quote:
ssdd, lol. He would've made a heck of a LB. :D |
Dang. I've somehow missed the last two goals.
Damn. Really wanted to see an OT in this game.
Standard Leafs playoff loss. Shitty goaltending and Marchand getting it done in the clutch.
Quote:
Like I said earlier, Marchand is a hell of a player. Just want to punch his face so damned much. |
41 hits already in this Stars/Knights game. Damn I would it rather watch than listening to it

I missed the entire 2nd period making/eating dinner. But it's been a good game here in the 3rd. |
Wow, DAL goalie is playing out of his mind right now. Great pair of saves.
Dangit. Can't buy an OT game.
7.5 to 1 odds right now for Vegas to win it all, same as Edmonton. Leading favorite now is Carolina at 4.25 to 1, with FLA and NYR close behind.
Avs jump in front early. Team is moving well.

First two games were boring as hell (until the last 3 minutes of the Canucks/Preds), but this one with Oilers/Kings should more than make up for it. |
MacKinnon is so damn strong on his skates... if you're going to cut him off along the boards, ya gotta do better than what the Jets have tried a couple times.
Oof.
Kings have some work to do... they need a Kane or Nurse double minor.
Playing well and unfortunately Hellebuyck has been better up to this point.
Good job getting it right on the high stick... not something you see in many leagues in terms of reviewing penalties.
Ouch, that was a lot of blood.
Capitalize! |
**** yeah they did.

Nice to see Mittlestadt heating up, that was a sick pass!

I like it when they take penalties (though I prefer it when it doesn't require injuries to our guys).
Wow, what a 3rd period.... goooood shit.
(and thanks for the implosion, Jets) |
I don't love the one that snuck under his pad, but overall I can't complain about Georgie tonight.
11-4 the past two games and 10-2 since the halfway point of game 2 (with 90 seconds left).
Quote:
Man, what a turnaround from game 1 (and the two weeks prior)... they were feeling it tonight, even before the 3rd period. |
Happy the players can always work out their differences in a meaningful way before the next game.
Dillon on the Jets was badly cut on his hand by a skate in the scrum at the end. It almost has to be a series ender if not a season ender. So dumb.
Here's a screen grab, but it's borderline NSFW. https://twitter.com/HamWilder/status...xaW1HbT9g&s=19 |
The way Dillon left the ice made me think it was pretty bad. The tweet you linked is already gone, but I got this still from the broadcast. Huge gash on his hand.
Spoiler!
Islanders live to see another day as they beat the Canes in overtime. Lightning also trying to see another game as they are up 3-0 in the first

Looks like Dillon is out but is possible for Tuesday. Glad it wasn't as bad as it looked.
