Noah Gray should change his name to Chad King

I would rather Powell be good than Gray, but it's nice to see we have a guy that is going to put pressure on the defenses even more.

If Turk Beach hits on Gray AND Smith, you might as well go ahead and build the statue.

It was Rashaad Fenton where I was like oh okay so he's just gonna bat a thousand from here on out

Even when you hit on a third rounder, it's a huge bonus. Look art what Hill and Kelce mean to this team. Getting guys like that in the 3rd and 5th rounds is like winning the ****ing lottery.

Boy did he get a lesson in Gray's anatomy on that one |
Patrick Mahomes stats last year with 2 TE’s on the field:
96 attempts 899 yards 9 TD’s 0 INT’s 1 sack That was with pure garbage behind Kelce. Get ready for these 2 TE sets. They’re going to rape defenses |

This is going to be gravy. |
Tim Grunhard said today on 610-- that Gray has been working out with Mahomes at a local field.
Tim's friend who runs the field stated that- Gray has looked bigger and faster than he expected. The kid is a total stud. Kelce 2.0!! Gray will be the starter for TE2. |
15 catches for 185 yards…

The fact that he already has Mahome's trust and they have chemistry is huge. Mahomes is looking dominant like never before as well- according to Grunny. |

Ah, but seriously, the last time there was consensus this early about a Chief, this heavily, among those who are tied to legitimate sources (like Riddick) was Patrick and Tyreek.
All we are missing now is Peter Schraeger’s endorsement (later this week?) and it will be sealed. |
Can you imagine if we hit big on Gray and Smith on day 3 alone?
A year after hitting on Sneed day 3? Yeesh. |

But, NFL players get past 30 years old, those HOF skills can decay pretty quick in many players. |

That still doesn’t mean that the Chiefs are letting people know they’re excited about Gray for any reason other than they’re excited about Gay. |

I’d say you’re over thinking it. I don’t think these are “strategic narratives”. I think the draft is a crap shoot and they know that. When they finally see these guys enough to identify who they’re excited about, they start to feed info to media they trust. They must have seen enough to be confident that Gray will be making an impact and become a good #2 by year end. If anything, it will help extend Kelce’s career a little. Takes some of the focus off of him. It’s very hard to cover two good TE’s while still having run personnel in. |
Let's just make sure he can catch in the damn game.
The Chiefs also seemed pretty high on Nick (makes Jonathan Hayes look like Stephone Paige) Keizer. |

Just having Mahomes has to be ****ing nerve wrecking, you definitely don’t wanna piss him off. |
I have a friend that told me Mahomes was generational prior to the 2017 draft.
So I often ask him about his take on college players coming out because he has pretty good eyes. He said Gray was noticeable at Duke when he was watching film on Daniel Jones. |
Who knows but he looks great on tape. A real talent with jump ability to get the ball. He may be the answer we have needed for a young TE. Just meaning Travis isn't young and we have whiffed on a back up a lot.

We’re talking backup TE, dude. And who’s going to beat out Gray? That’s not great white hyping the player at all |
Two f-ups and a very nice TD grab. Silky smooth route on the TD grab.
At least he's capable of making a big play, which is more than can be said for the other backup TEs we've had since Harris. The Jody Fortson loss still stings because I really liked him, but if Gray is capable of being that tertiary short yardage/goal line option that teams forgot to account for, we're still in pretty good shape. |
That big Darrell Williams run was bc of a block by Noah Gray. It was beautiful. He also had another nice block on a screen.
Can’t wait to see Kelce, 2nd year Gray and 2nd year Fortson next season |
Hopefully his TD boosts his confidence. I heard everything about this guy being a training camp hero, and haven't seen shit but dropped passes and missed opportunities.... until that TD.
|
I think similarly to Nick Bolton, he will start getting confident and more involved. I think theyll make it a point to get him involved and let Kelce get some pine time.
|
It's also notoriously difficult to get TEs going during their rookie seasons. Not just in Andy's offense either, it's across the board. Most of the all-time great TEs did jack squat in their rookie seasons in terms of receptions and yards. Some of them were even probably terrible. Remember Tony G's rookie year?
I'll bet Gray will be regularly contributing in his 2nd year. Might even see a dual threat kind of situation between him and Kelce. |

Noah Gray has as many TD's as Kyle Pitts in Atlanta does.

Pitts has almost 1000 yards, He's a stud.
|
Gray is putting up a tudder every 30 yards, Pitts is putting one up every 950./End thread.
|
I don't know about shitting on Pitts.
For whatever reason, it's hard to integrate TEs as rookies into NFL offenses. Either coaches don't trust them with blocking responsibilities so they don't see the field, or their receiving skills are still sucky, or some other such reason. Pitts already has the 2nd most receiving yards for a rookie TE in NFL history. A rookie TE hasn't cracked 1000 yards since Ditka did it in 1961, but Pitts can do that with just 50 more. I don't really care if the Falcons are force feeding him the ball or not. That's a pretty good indicator of NFL success provided you don't see a total implosion like Jeremy Shockey had following his rookie season. |

Of course, I was also told he'd be cut this season. |
Can we come up with some kind of universal punishment for idiots on this forum who after the 3rd day of training camp say shit like, "Noah Gray has been awfully quiet. Not good. Haven't heard a single thing about him. Probably gonna get cut I'll bet."
There. There's your noise. Just because a guy's name doesn't get called doesn't mean he's not doing well or not meeting expectations of the coaches. I'm not saying he's going All Pro now, but he IS getting your precious training camp buzz you were desperately searching for to affirm that he'll be sticking around the team. |
Gray is going to have every opportunity afforded to him to make this team as a guy Veach moved up to the top of the 5th to get. If he's playing good ball, no way they'll ditch him.
Fortson was showing last year he could be a red zone threat at a minimum but KC lacked the size they now possess at WR. He could have value but he's going to have to show more than that, and he just might. Bell has a very limited, specific skill set, that isn't so incredibly valuable that I could see Reid letting the two younger guys go for if they are both playing well. That would be my odd man-out candidate. Now, if Fortson or Gray suck ass in pre-season game action, then Bell could keep one of them from making the team. From what we're hearing very early, Bell is going to have his work cut out for him. It's early though. |
Quote:

Bell will be gone. We going with the 3 headed monster in Kelce, Fortson and Gray

Gray was talked up last TC, didn't translate to the season. Fingers crossed it was only his Tom Brady voice turning people skittish
