This is right where I am with it. I have been around a lot of different garages in my life, as a tow truck driver, and as an auto body shop employee. I've never seen a rope fashioned as a noose in any of those places.

They're tied like that for a reason. When the doors are down you can hang the loop on a nail at belt level so you can grab it and open the door without bending over and picking the rope up off the ground.

Take a door up and down a few dozen times a day and you'll learn to appreciate the loop hanging on the nail. Especially if you're over 35 and been slinging tires for a decade.

If the guy wasn't complicit, then he and his team are as dumb as shoes. These guys have been in and out of a million garages in their lives and yes, they know what the damn pull-down at the front of the door does. And it wouldn't have taken a second to realize that there's weren't the only ones.

He didn't concoct this idiot scheme, but he damn sure played along with it.

Or is this one of those 'soft bigotry of low expectations' things where you just presume that poor sweet Bubba just couldn't have figured this out?
