I'm guessing that this was a one season thing. It's like All or Nothing and Hard Knocks. A different team every year.
I wish that it could carry on, but they certainly picked a great time to do the Chiefs. Seeing an inside look on the run to the team's first Superbowl in 50 years was awesome. I can't wait for the finale on Wednesday.

Why can't the Chiefs produce their own version of the show, I ponder?

They certainly have the money. Now that we are a worldwide phenomenon, the size of the market warrants the effort and advertisers could be easily obtained.

I suggest a Chiefs variant sponsored by Hunts Ketchup and Grandma Binkley's Therapeutic Biscuits & Gravy Mix.

Unless the organization believes the production to be too intrusive and distracting, I think they should go for it.

It was done by the Chiefs. Their media department was on fire this year.

The show reminds me of a cross between Hard Knocks and All or Nothing, though rather than HBO or NFL Films and Amazon, the Chiefs have opted to use their in-house production team to tell their own story.

I would love to see that happen. They certainly have the setup to do it. They air Chiefs Insider and Chiefs Rewind every week during the seat already. A biweekly show like
The Franchise seems doable to me.

Awesome! I didn't know that. Thanks. I could have sworn that at the first of the season when I was looking for the latest episode that I found previous seasons with teams in other sports like soccer. But I can't find them now, so I guess that I was mistaken.

Yup! This show is ours and should be coming back for season 2.

Our media team picked the right year to crush it.

Re-watching the draft episode.

They showed the TV footage of the Hardman selection. I saw the selection live, but I completely forgot that Gary Green was the one announcing the pick. Before he did that, he walked up to the microphone and said, "Kansas City, we have been knocking on the door a long time. I feel like I am now making the pick for the 2020 Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs."

I just teared up a bit. Holy crap, he really was feeling it, man.

The old school me worries that having even more cameras around would only be a negative because it adds unnecessary pressure.

But then I remember the Chiefs have the Champion Swagger!!

Did you really think a production company called 65 Toss Power Trap Productions was actually going to be doing a different team each season?

InChiefsHeaven 02-18-2020 10:45 AM

This was our version. I think for the 100 year anniversary of the NFL, there were a lot of teams doing this, if not all of them. Remember, the Pats were filming their version called Do Your Job when they got busted for filming the Bengals this season. And I know I saw others at the beginning when The Franchise started. I think this was just a 100 anniversary thing, but who knows if it will be back next year.

The Chiefs Media team is the shit though. I believe 65TPT productions is a model and well recognized as elite in the league.

InChiefsHeaven 02-18-2020 11:27 AM

I heartily recommend rewatching episode 1. It's great, given how the season ended!

I guess that I just didn't catch that it was 65TPT.

Wow I remember that. That was badass and needs to be revisited.
