Russel looks slow and only got a goal because it went off a defender. Salloi is invisible on the field as well.

No speed and and no toughness. LAFC beat them on every 50-50 ball and knocked them off the ball at will.

Sporting will not be good again until PV is gone and it will take several years after he leaves.

Tuchel is going to be fired by the winter break if he keeps up his nonsense. Watching Jessie Marsch absolutely destroy and troll him in the process was so fun to watch.

POND_OF_RED 09-06-2022 11:30 AM

Tuchel still hasn’t figured out a lineup that is good enough to compete. How long does this new ownership give him to try and figure this team out. They gave him pretty much a blank checkbook and he’s made the team obviously worse with the moves he made. Bringing in an aging Sterling and trying to have Aubameyang be a late transfer window savior is going to definitely cost him his job. Hopefully sooner rather than later so Pulisic can get some more playing time before the World Cup.

Edit: He was fired the next morning so the answer was “they’re not going to give him much longer”

POND_OF_RED 09-06-2022 02:22 PM

Been a good day for the Americans in Champions League play today. Reyna got 2 assists coming in as a sub. McKennie just scored an amazing header coming in for Juventus against PSG. Dest coming in as a sub for AC Milan now. Pulisic even got some minutes for Chelsea. They were unproductive. He really needed to get out of Chelsea before the transfer window closed. He’s arguably not even one of the best 3 Americans at this point as far as form goes. That’s a good thing for America, though. We’ve got some talent all over now. It’s not absolute world class, but it’s improving every year!

That was about as exciting as a soccer game can get

Electric crowd
Plenty of goals
Goals in extra time
Superstar coming through in the clutch
Shootout
Horrific injury

POND_OF_RED 11-05-2022 06:50 PM

That injury was really bad. A terrible day for Canadian soccer. Looks like Alphonso Davies is likely going to be missing the World Cup as well. He went out with a hamstring injury today as well. :(

Bayern hired Tuchel which is hilarious. Borussia Dortmund and Munich play on the 1st with BVB up 2 points at the top.

POND_OF_RED 03-24-2023 06:14 PM

Surely Tuchel can’t destroy two teams in 1 season right? I am in complete shock that he landed the Bayern job after the huge mess he created in Chelsea. Hopefully Dortmund and Union Berlin can make them pay for that mistake of a hire.

You've outdone yourself. I thought you were clueless on footie but it turns out you're actually a spastic. Tuchel left Chelsea with a far better reputation than he had when he went into the club. He was hired by Bayern prematurely because he's the best manager available and they knew that if Real get knocked out of the CL he'd be lined up to get the job from Carlo.

He may have left with a better reputation, but he didn’t leave Chelsea in a better spot than when he took over. Lampard laid the foundation for that Champions League season. When the new ownership group gave Tuchel some blank checks to go out and build his own team he lost his job in less than 10 games. I guess Bayern might just be hoping he can come in and finish off another Champions League team he didn’t build, but if they give him an open checkbook in the summer window I’m gonna laugh my ass off. The regression Chelsea clearly showed in Tuchels time there should not have been a good enough resume to push Nagelsmann to the side.

Messi in Talks for $400m Saudi Deal, Telegraph Says

(Bloomberg) — Saudi Arabia is preparing to offer football star Lionel Messi a $400 million annual contract to play with the Saudi Pro League this summer, the Telegraph reported.

The deal, which is being negotiated by Messi’s father, would far exceed the more than $200 million deal Cristiano Ronaldo signed to play in Saudi Arabia until the summer of 2025.

The Argentine World Cup champion was suspended on Tuesday by his current club Paris Saint-Germain for two weeks after traveling to Saudi Arabia without permission from the organization. Messi had previously agreed to a deal in principle to stay with PSG, but following the disciplinary action, he will not renew his contract, BBC reported.

Read More: The Country Where Bankers’ Pay Is Booming - Saudi Arabia

The potential signing would be the latest move by Saudi Arabia to upend the world of professional sports. In addition to the recent signing of Ronaldo, the country has financed the LIV Golf league and its sovereign wealth fund purchased Premier League club Newcastle United.

The Saudi sovereign wealth fund also mulled adding Formula 1 motor racing to its sports investments, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News in January.

The PIF’s investments in sports and competitive gaming — and moves to bring major sporting events to the kingdom — are partly an attempt to boost Saudi soft power, while critics say such deals are “sportswashing,” an attempt to improve the nation’s image and divert attention from a poor human rights record.

I totally understand some players that are pretty good and take a bunch of money to play soccer in SA or in China or something like that. But these guys who already have more money than they could possibly spend I don't really understand why they take these deals. So many great places to play around the world. Weird to me.

You just knew that once Ronaldo went to Saudi Arabia for that coin, Messi wouldn’t be far behind.

These guys are entering the last part of their careers and both have completed basically everything they could., especially Messi.

Now that Messi has a World Cup, he has nothing else to really shoot his legacy further. He’s done it all.

Now he’s just cashing out.

Yep, apparently they also wanted to buy Formula 1 (for $20b or something) but Liberty Media weren't interested in selling. Which makes sense with how much the sport is growing in the US.

Another one of Womble’s soccer takes ages like a wet fart again. LMAO Has there been a coach that’s had a worse season than Tuchel. He turned one team into the joke of England this season and took a Bayern team with hopes of a treble at the time of his hiring to likely ending the season without any hardware for the first time in who knows how long. Let’s hope Borussia doesn’t **** it up next week and can close this out!

Mainz came out and punched Borussia right in the mouth with 2 early goals. Borussia has to win to win the Bundesliga and end Bayern’s 10 year reign. Reyna came on and has given them extra life and an assist to bring them to needing 2 goals or a Cologne goal to die Bayern in the last 20 minutes of the season. These last 20 minutes make the whole year of ESPN+ worth it.

Let’s keep the streak going tonight. I love this lineup. So excited to see how Balogun fits in with our style.

Canada will beat either one that comes through.

Don't worry, Canada won't be playing a team as good as Belgium, Croatia, or Morocco in the final of this tournament.

I don’t think Canada is gonna be able to surprise anyone anymore. The fact that they won CONCACAF qualifying should be reason enough to not bring Berhalter back. Anyone who thinks we achieved anything under him is ridiculous. We should absolutely walk through any concacaf competition.

USA has no business losing games to either Canada or Mexico given their overall depth of talent in comparison to them, but that's what makes it so funny about Berhalter returning. You can expect more of that to come.

RollChiefsRoll 06-15-2023 09:49 PM

**** Mexico

Shag 06-15-2023 10:06 PM

CONCACAF is such a joke. Mexico is such a dirty ****ing team, and they refuse to do anything about it.

Yes, but at the same time our guys shouldn't fall for their bait. This is who Mexico has always been since I can remember. They're a bunch of thugs out there.

KC_Connection 06-15-2023 10:24 PM

USA loses two guys for the final now after that mess. They should have pulled their best players before that ever happened.

Fantastic if you ask me...because you know hes ACTUALLY ****ing American. Which, you know, should be a prerequisite before joining the USA mens national team. Offensive that that GERMAN Jürgen Klinsmann was ever the coach or that they even considered ARGENTINIAN Marcelo Bielsa.

Couldn't believe the game had the USA playing and in Las Vegas and not on a single english speaking channel.

petegz28 06-16-2023 07:12 AM

I guess I turned it off before Dest got his red card. WTF did he do?

Hands to face in altercation after the Mexican red card.

penguinz 06-16-2023 07:27 AM

CONCACAF needs to fix their referee problem. The best referees in CONCACAF are from USA and Mexico so these games cannot be reffed by a somewhat adequate crew. Canada being in the final made it so that their referees were not available either.

The hardest match to call ends up with a crew from some tiny Caribbean nation that in reality shouldn't be on a international level to begin with.

They need to start borrowing refs from other confederations.for these games.

You didn't miss out on anything by not watching the english feed. Twillman was a ****ing idiot but the new crew might be worse.

POND_OF_RED 06-18-2023 08:00 PM

Fun first half minus the embarrassing crowd. That Balogun goal was great! We’ve really kind of left the rest of CONCACAF in the rear view at this point. Doing this without arguably one of our centerpieces in Tyler Adams as well. Not to mention McKennie and Dest out with the red cards. This team is ready for Copa next year. Hope we can find a way to play more competitive matches over the next couple years before we host the WC.

Berhalter may be a terrible coach, but let’s not act like Herdman somehow has the upper hand. If Herdman pulled that failed trash talk for the USMNT he would have been fired immediately after the World Cup. I’ll take all of the Reyna and Berhalter drama over a coach talking shit and then getting swept out of the group.

Who said anything about Herdman having the upper hand on anybody? The USA was a hell of a lot easier to play the past couple of years when Berhalter was holding this group back though. Canada's gonna need him to return soon to overcome the depth of talent USA has on them and fortunately he will.

Lol Canada doesn't have shit on the US. Won't even matter who the coach is. You have two players that's it. The rest of your team is trash. Poor dudes being wasted on a Canadian team

NJChiefsFan 06-18-2023 09:33 PM

Could have won the past two games 4-0 each. Awesome lineups both games.
