Dont watch if you dont like it, a**hole. Be concerned for the drvers, but dont pass judgment on quality entertainment that others enjoy.

Dont watch it.
But my Facebook is blowing up about this wreck. Sounds like he died instantly. They just haven't broken the news yet. |
TMZ is now reporting. He has been hospitalized.
Hope the man ends up ok. |
If you watch the slow motion footage it makes it look like the top of the car was pushed in quite a ways.
The footage of the stretcher being rolled to the bus with the black screens on both sides makes your stomach turn. |
He'll be fine.
|
They got to get all the ducks in a row as far as hippa and the family.

Non life threatening injuries.
Serious, but stable. |
Just did a quick statement on FS1, in serious condition but injuries are non life threatening.

Amazing he will be ok. God is good.

Good deal that he’s alive. I’d wait to say he’s ok, the way that A pillar collapsed, I’m hoping he’s not paralyzed

I can't believe he survived that crash. I'm so happy those 2 little girls still have their daddy in their lives and hope he makes a full recovery.
So much credit to the people who helped him and the engineers with the car. Wow. |
This is utterly amazing.

There's a story floating around that makes it appears some of his previous arguments and harsh words with nascar lead to the changes in the cage that most likely saved his life.
I remember him going after them pretty hard after one of his previous crashes several years ago, but never heard if he got the additional supports that he wanted. |

No gimp limp scratch or burn. He is a very lucky man.

Wow. That's incredible to think that he's walking out less than 48 hours after that wreck.

Newman should be buying a lottery ticket. Just one; he's obviously the luckiest man alive so he'll only need the one ticket. Probably win every lottery in America with it too.

Dale JR and Hamilton have been online forever. So has tony stewart. Not uncommon to run into many famous race car drivers on iracing.

Watching the Texas Int. race. Is this a replay?
|
I was watching a race a few days back of the 1986 Richmond 400. It was way before the track was reconfigured to what it is today. Just an old school, not much banked oval. A rub here, a bump there type of track. Just nothing but fun.
It convinced me that NASCAR needs to go back to that style of racing, those style of tracks, the race format, the points system. Just everything. Hell even run the old body styles I wouldn't care. This shit they call racing now is just horseshit. Invert the field, a points system that is equally dumb. Just bland blah blah blah racing is all we have now. No true stars. Too many rando randy racers. I could go on and on. But the product now has shown itself to be a attendance and sport killer. Give me that old school shit! |
Since we're stuck at home I've got the iRacing cranked up. Anybody else iRacing?

I don't have iracing but I have ever other game. Iracing costs 100 a year plus the cars and you don't own it and my record sucks. I have a nice rig though at-least for me. Play seat. Ts-PC racer. t3pa pro peddles 35 inch curved monitor. I got nascar 2003 still lol

I've been watching some of the chopped down versions and highlights, but I just can't get into watching an actual iRace.
I can see how it might be fun, and incredibly frustrating, for some of these guys. |

I game a little with my young nephew but find many games just too damn boring. If you gave me a rig like some of these guys are using and the experience these systems create I could get into the gaming part of it. I just can't watch it as a "fan" like many are. |

You can find tons of setups online or build one. Too bulky and too ugly and people get bored with them. I also host a facebo page called Cats in simulatior cockpits because cats love racing seats
|
The only video game I ever got addicted to was a late '90s WWII simulation titled "Airwarrior." It was one of the first online games, and it originally used the old GEnie network. IIRC, it cost about $2-$3 an hour to play. I got so obsessed with that game that I spend over $275/month, basically a car payment back then, for over a year.
Once I got really hooked, I bought the shell of an old Star Wars coin-op video game for $100 (some of you might remember this; looked kind of like a plane cockpit), installed my computer monitor behind the magnifying lens, installed brackets to hold both my throttle and my joystick (Thrustmaster), and screwed my rudder pedals to the floor of that thing. I also installed an old car seat for added comfort, speakers, and a phone headset so I could talk to my wingmates instead of having to type everything. Kind of glad that game went away, just because if it hadn't I'd probably still be a bartender living in a crappy apartment dating a stripper. |
