Did you CC Brooke Pryor? Personally I’d like nothing more than wall of sports from politics but the left refuses to do that.

Hey, look, ****mo found TWO current athletes who wouldn't go and some old guys who'd already been but wouldn't go back.

Congratulations!

Apparently that's supposed to compare with the disrespectful hordes who won't do it now, and make complete asses of themselves in the process to the gleeful adoration of the media.

You're missing the point. I don't WANT to have that debate. Unlike you, I don't think about life in political terms, and I don't get all that worked up about political topics. That's why it's obnoxious to me when people post political shit in the Lounge. It's not productive, it's usually not relevant, and frankly it's pretty hypocritical to say "I hate that people are dragging politics into sports" in one breath and then in the next start dragging politics into a forum that specifically is a place for people to talk sports without politics.

IIRC, it's also a major reason The Hub was created, NO POLITICS. The way it gets into sports and other topics is by both "sides" picking and choosing talking points to create division instead of **** Donk Forever, Rapelistlberger, Tom Pedo Brady, NFL fixing games, Phyllis Rivers etc.

As Red Green would say, "We're all in this together."

I realize you weren't here at the time, but I was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the DC forum in the first place. You're welcome, by the way.

But the politics of the day have a way of oozing into every aspect of our lives, including, sadly, the Chiefs, and it is certainly by design. I don't like it anymore than you do. Christ, half the people who voted in that initial poll about Hill wanted him immediately fired from the team, and they were for the most part Jedi-mind tricked into having that opinion by the very same wretched, dishonest tactics that are used to destroy politicians. When that crap is aimed at Trump, it's discussed in DC. When it's aimed at Hill, it's kind of hard not to discuss it here. You can tap dance around it, but that's the truth.

I can't find that rule in the FAQs. I never knew when it became a rule and went looking for it, but never found it.
I mean the rule of being banned from a thread for it—not the general rule of politics goes in DC and not the Lounge.

So in short, keep it to DC.

That's it right there. When others see others doing it—and getting away with it, which has happened, then others do react to it and so start to comment because they think it's okay.

Both are guilty of engaging in the confrontation but the instigators are predominately Trump supporters. Just look at today's contributions to this thread. It's predominately Trump supporters pissed off that they can't bring their politics into the Lounge and belittling anyone who disagrees.

The Kaepernick thread is exempt from this analysis. As are the kneeling ones. Those never stood a chance and should have been moved to DC immediately.

Mods are partly responsible because they allow clearly political topics, sports related or not, to stay in the lounge. End result = Politics in the lounge.

There's a forum for that here.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree. I tend not to post in DC because its frustrating to have an opinion that gets dumped on just because I lean further one way than the other. But when I see posts like this is really does irritate me. To say its all one side is not a fair assessment at all.

Oh horseshit. It was the Trump OPPONENTS who injected politics into the subjects discussed here. Trump supporters aren't kneeling on the sidelines, ranting about how much they hate America when they should be celebrating victory, whining about an ancient flag, or presenting false and altered narratives in the media in an attempt to wreck the team and any chance we have of winning the Super Bowl. Was anybody talking about politics in relation to football in the main forum BEFORE these things happened? NO.

Your thought masters are the ones who are lighting the fires. And now we're supposed to pretend that the house isn't burning? Give me a ****ing break. The same people who are pissing and moaning about politics in the Lounge prop up the assholes who brought it here in the first place. If you're looking for someone to blame, check the nearest mirror.

There has been a rise in political comments in non political threads in the lounge that get swerved. 99% of these political comments inside a thread in the lounge are started from Trump supporters trying to get a rise out of the woke, virtue signaling snowflakes. And then the other side takes the bait. And we have politics in the lounge, in threads that are in no way political.

The political antagonists in the sports world are almost all from the left these days. Reactions primarily from the right are to be expected.

Also, although I think you’re a great guy, I question your objectivity on this topic.

What alternative would you suggest.

A faction of the left has taken the mantra that the personal is the political.
They reason that you progress politically by politicizing every aspect of life.
If you want to rouse the disconnected, point out the political aspects of the things they are connected with.
Is TV racist?
Is sports sexist?
Is the food you eat bigoted?
Is your footwear exploitative?
Is your air conditioning gendered?
etc. etc.

Smartly, for them. They present it as mere 'food for thought.' But it's intended as rhetoric to be consumed without thinking. Therefore if anyone points out the flaws in the reasoning, the sparks start flying and everyone THEN starts complaining about politicization.
I'm all for autonomy, let people make their own decisions about what is best for them. But if there is an effort to bind personal decisions up in political rhetoric, I'm going to be there with a critical eye.
In those cases, it is eminently relevant 'who started it.' Those who DIDN'T start it, aren't the ones lecturing you on your personal decisions, yet they get painted as the politicizers when they push back on people who are.

"Political" needs to be defined.

Is "God Bless America" a political statement? For example: Tyreek Hill will not be suspended! God Bless America that the principal of due process still exists or else he would have been banished from the NFL solely on the howling and gnashing of teeth by the hyenas in the "woke media".

I think we all know by now that God Bless America isn't political, it's racist.

Well it seems like the charitable thing to do. ;) We can't have him sitting around with nothing to do, like the Maytag repair man.

You do realize what I said was in no way "political" I was only referencing a posters disdain with Reid in comparison to another posters disdain with, well you know who.

That's not "political" in nature in any way shape or form.

I don't even know what post you are talking about. I didn't ban you from that thread and I'm not banning you from this one.
