I know it's cabbage but this thread reminded me of this bit on The Kids in the Hall. Does anyone remember it? That show was great. :D

Iowanian 03-06-2008 11:30 AM

I was paying $11 for convenience.

We've got a set of clippers and brideowanian now cuts my hair. Its pretty simple and after a couple of gouges the first time or two, she's getting the hang of it and saving a couple of hundred a year at least....with about $30 for clippers.

I get one haircut per year whether I need it or not.

seclark 03-06-2008 11:38 AM

$16 for the cut, $4 tip.
she's pretty sweet looking though.

I'll shave my head before I pay $45 for a haircut.

I pay $11 (it just went up). My wife used to cut but she didn't like doing it, so it's just easier to stop by the barber every couple of months.

some db on another board i visit was braggin he pays $90 for his haircut, pillowbiter

eazyb81 03-06-2008 11:45 AM

I pay $30 + tip for mine, but I've had bad experiences at the cheap places before so it's worth it to me to pay more for a quality cut.

I also have some fantastic hair if I do say so myself.

I used to go to Pestals Barber shop around the corner of 50th and Underwood in my youth and beyond when I lived there. He would let you bring your beer over from the Underwood bar to drink while having your hair cut. Used a straight razor to shave your neck and was really old school and always got a good hair cut. He was a great guy. I read where he finally retired a couple of years ago but don't know if someone is still running the shop or not. Went there last about 4 yrs ago and at the time it was still $8 John Pestal is most likely still missed.
