Was anyone actually dumb enough to think this would work (outside of that idiot McMahon)?

What McMahon doesn't get is there is a reason nobody shows up for Ivy League, NAIA, SWAC, MEAC football, it's....small time. People wanna see Alabama, LSU, Texas, USC.

Pro football is about star players and loyalty to your city, state. It's never been about just watching a game.

Try selling one of his rasslin' shows without his big stars. It's the same thing.

For all the geniuses reveling in the Xfl failure it in no way could have survived this pandemic , no revenue from crowds, sponsors and TV deals would kill most leagues or business models.

Bankruptcy is purely a cost saving exercise at this point I would have thought.

Everybody gets that we also get the league was never going to make it. People just don't care about non stars/small time football.

Yale vs Princeton has been around forever, check out the stands.
