True to form nothing is just bolt on but new rear brakes are almost done.

Sweet. Where'd you buy the Wilwoods? Summit im guessing? Im a Wilwood distributor and even I buy our Wilwood kits through my Summit wholesale account. While the cost of the parts are slightly cheaper direct w/ Wilwood, Summit doesn't charge shipping, which is about $75, which ultimately makes it cheaper buying through Summit.

Summit is basically Walmart. It's difficult to compete with their pricing.

I can't argue with that logic, you could have said pink and in someone's mind you would be right.

Yeah, It had me stumped, I Googled it, with no answer, I remembered what it is and followed up to get the model and the year correct, now I want to challenge the gearheads...Year is not really important but must be close.(hint, pre-bolt ons) OK bonus point if you nail the year.

No extra credit for posting pictures of the model but could be fun.

I gave you the hint " pre bolt ons" so that means it's an early model

And yes it is a Mercedes SLS AMG not the SLS GT AMG. and the first production year was 2011 =. your pics were later models.

The wheels being all silver and the dark calipers is the only way to tell. You could get the red but it was standard the next year.

I used Speedway because they were the only ones that had exactly what I needed in stock. typically use Summit or Jegs.

Yea the savings on shipping makes it well worth while. Speedway has free shipping too on orders over $100.

Had to do some light machining to adapt the parking brake brackets to my cables and to get spacing right on the caliper brackets but I got it all buttoned up today.

Brakes were decent before, they are absolutely great now and I gained a ton of clearance.

You posted pictures of a higher performance car, the SLS GT AMG, not the SLS AMG. When this car was made, the GT wasn't made yet.

That is a nice set up,
I like see studs like that when spacers are needed. Did you need those spacers for clearance before/ after the upgrade?

What's on the other axle?

What are you using for pads? I used to run some green stuff friction (not the EBC pads they sell now) that was awesome stuff back in the day.
