They’re gonna go back to Rudy (obviously) but if Denver starts turning this series back around next game with him on the floor, they’ll know now what they can go back to and have success.

RealSNR 05-06-2024 09:42 PM

So obviously the Wolves greatly benefitted from trading away Deangelo because they got old man Conley, but the really funny part is that Alexander-Walker was basically a throw-in player to the deal, and he alone might be worth the trade

He's playing incredible off the bench

Trading FOR Russel was one of the worst mistakes they've made, and they've made a TON of mistakes.

Beginning to think Canada may end up starting Alexander-Walker over Wiggins this summer based on what I’m seeing.

And every team always gets better trading Russell away. The guy is as useless as it gets when it really matters. Somehow the Lakers didn’t figure that out after last season.

Mike Conley is 8000 years old. He needs breaks

chiefzilla1501 05-06-2024 10:03 PM

Amazing what a difference a year makes. Last year Denver were media darlings since jokic is fun to watch. But Murray's a little bitch and porters family is an embarassment

That's fine, but why not go for a competent backup?

Minnesota appears to be acknowledging his suckage by not giving him minutes. However, when he DOES go in, he actively hurts the team. Is there literally nobody else available?

Somebody is going to have to explain to me how/why the Pacers were called for a "kicked ball" that CLEARLY wasn't a kicked ball. I get that the NBA wants the Knicks to advance (see: Game 2 vs. Philly), but THAT was blatant.

That, and the illegal screen nonsense, changed the game.

The ref didn't have a good angle of that play, even on TV it was kind of hard to see. The Pacers didn't have any challenges left IIRC.

Here is the slowed down version. Not sure why the other 2 refs couldn't see this. The rule is you can't challenge a kicked ball.

I wasnt crazy about the Mavs. But a credit to kyrie, he seems to have accepted a role as Lukas side piece. It was clunky when they played like two aces. Kyrie seems to be ok with turning on the jets when they need Luka less and it seems to be working.

Luka is incredible. At times the dude looks as fast as a middle aged man but he is just impossible to guard.

The key in the Mavs improvement this year isn't those two. Its the arrival and emergence of Gafford. They finally have some defense.

Its going to be fun watching Luka guard anyone on the Thunder. Good luck buddy

Yeah, make it illegal to substitute and manage the game as you see fit. Sounds like a great plan.

Or maybe Adam silver shouldn't be such a dipshit with scheduling and maybe just maybe we can have less games with more breaks than watching all these NBA teams load manage and watching superstars huff and puff through game 7s.

I would say what they are doing has been an awful plan so doing anything is better than doing nothing.

Early series should be 5 games. And we don't need nearly as many teams. And you also don't need teams finishing off back to backs jumping immediately into an every other day series. This after a season where silver had one of the dumbest schedule designs where teams played an insane number of road back to back to backs.

That's the fixable part. The other part of the blowout issue is teams are just chucking up 3s though I don't know how you stop that

More games doesn't make for better sports. For the same reason football doesn't need more playoff teams in a season that's already a grind where you're just hoping your player will make it through healthy.

It means immediately getting to good teams against good teams. And watching superstars who are a little fresh instead of limping around by the second quarter

Coogs 05-09-2024 06:25 AM

I am all for a reduced regular season, they should really cut it in half or 52 games but so should the NHL and MLB. They could start in late December and play a couple of games a week with no back to back so no need to load manage. It will never happen though because the owners want those 42 home game checks.

I like the current playoff format though especially the play in games. To add some intrigue they could make the first round a single elimination game now that would be fun.

I could live with a longer playoff if the regular season was shorter. you can see players just breaking down left and right which just doesn't make for good playoff basketball. Maybe that also allows to build in more space between games too. Thankfully Knicks pacers has made for a close matchup this round.

Hope is that the game also evolves to less three pointers but feel like that won't happen anytime soon.

In any event it's disturbing to me to see teams pull starters in a playoff game. I get that being down 22 with 6 minutes left is bad, but man I dunno....

I mean, I hate to blame officiating but theyve gotten an insane amount of favorable calls in close games this playoff. Yesterday, the pacers just shit the bed.

chiefzilla1501 05-09-2024 09:08 AM

Sometimes you have coaches who are too rigid. Carlisle seems way too locked in on rotations instead of sticking with their hot hand. pacers bench players are outplaying several of their starters

Former Mizzou player gets 30 months in prison for defrauding, or attempting to defraud the NBA Healthcare insurance system. Or something like that. Keyon Dooling got 30 months in real prison.

Big Baby Davis got 40 months.

Prison has to suck, but knowing that you were a baller, and you are rich, it has to suck even more. Like, yeah, they can buy protection, etc. or keep their commissary full, but going from living the NBA lifestyle, and being free, to being locked in a cage for for a couple of years, would be sickening.

Edit: Real criminals may not have anything on the outside waiting for them, so it makes being inside easier. But, if you knew you had a big house, nice cars, nice clothes, maybe even a personal chef, and probably a smoking hot trophy wife, etc., being locked up might be unbearable. If this was China he could just pay someone to do his time.

Big Baby Davis got 40 months.

Keyon Dooling's had it rough, man.

Some pretty ****ed up stuff in his childhood, had a nervous breakdown while playing for the Celtics. And man, 30 months in the federal 'pen when we have dudes out there robbing, stealing and shooting at each other and not getting prosecuted at the state level is just damn odd.

Feel a little bad for him - he's probably never going to be fully 'right' in the head.

Man, these playoffs have been fun. The league is really good right now.
