I swear up and down I caught a cross between a trout and a smallmouth today. The pic doesn't do justice as to how much this looked and felt like a trout and how small the dorsal fin was.

Mmm, crappie... maybe the best eating freshwater fish there is, nice work.

Went camping at Horsethief Reservoir this weekend. It's a new lake north of Dodge City along the Buckner Creek that opened up last year. The fishing is already great.

Yeah, nice size out of a new lake, how long ago did they first stock it?

Been trying to get serious about my fishing the last few weeks, but it never fails that when i have the time either a cold fronts blowing in or its raining like hell. For every nice day this spring & early summer we've had three days of dogshit.

They first stocked it in 2009. They stocked a bunch of fingerling walleye as well and we've started catching some this summer that are about 14" long. Another year and they'll be perfect.

Caught this nice Largemouth on Wednesday on the Elk river, 18.5 inches and around 3lbs. The mess of Bluegill, Black Perch, and that lone Goggle Eye made for a nice bag of fillets.

Headed to the river Tuesday night. Got the bachelor party fishing float on Wednesday and hopefully a kick ass fish fry that night. Getting married on Saturday and then off to Costa Rica on the 4th. Should have some nice fishing picks (among many others) from both those outings.

Boog II has been settin trout-lines and limb-lines the last two weekends .. been doin ok .. 6 fish over 10 pounds .. 5 over 15 .. 3 bout 30 .. nuttin real big yet .. in the Verdigris River west of Toronto Ks ....

an 18.5 inch Bass should be well over 3 lbs.
