Excellent is probably a stretch. But I'm not saying they aren't good. They're just usually a step behind.

This is kind of interesting: The AFC West and AFC North have ZERO teams with a losing record. Worst record in either division is 3-3.

Meanwhile, the AFC East and AFC South have only ONE team in each division with a winning record: The Bills and the Titans.

Weird.

Our CBs aren't an issue. I don't think any of our LBs are good in coverage though.

If we do, it could be a really long day.

Make him earn his yards in bulk. Keep him under 4YPC and we should be alright. If we don't it will be a long, high scoring game.

thechiefsrback 10-19-2021 04:06 PM

not really confident going into this game. I had this penciled as a loss beginning of the season.

Henry is going to run over the defense and will have 200 yards just in the 1st half alone.

How could anyone not at this point?

He's Okoye with superior instincts, and ridiculous speed for a man that size

In my mind, hell yes. Dude is a beast, and he’s extremely difficult to contain. Probably one of the best I’ve ever seen do it.

Edit - not only that but him using Sherman as a blocker was such a great play. Literally nothing Sherman could do about it.

Uhhh, yeah. Uhh, yeah already. Duh.

He's only got 6,600 career rushing yards.

Right now he hasn't done any more than guys like Terrell Davis, Priest Holmes, etc. But with back to back 2k seasons where does that put him on the all-time ranking list?

It would be even stranger if it stays that way because the AFC West teams play every AFC North team this year.

What does "don't stop" mean? He could rush for 200 and the Chiefs could still win... he ran for 143/7ypc/3 TDs the other night and the Bills lost that game themselves. And of course the Ravens rushed for 250 and the Chiefs should have won that game.

ROYC75 10-20-2021 09:28 AM

Would not surprise me if Henry gashes us for 200+ yards!

Just as long as we can score 1 more point than the Titans.

I stand by my words because Tanny is not elite at all. The Bills lost partially because Henry wore them out. Make Tanny win the game.

The run defense has played well since the Baltimore game. The pass defense has been the main culprit since the first two weeks. Not sure where these stats are coming from.

There are no "windows" in the NFL. For all we know, Jacksonville might be a contender next year. Too much parity and quick turnarounds in the NFL.

I’ve heard some chatter in league circles that Tennessee’s window, which was never open, is now firmly closed.

Ryan Tannehill has regressed badly from his fluke playoff run in 2019.

You are a one player team with Queen Henry… that’s it.

As I explained in my post, this isn't my opinion but the opinion of league circles. The chefs just aren't that good anymore. Derrick Henry will make that known on his way to an mvp award. It should be a game though, with 2 teams evenly matched giving maximum effort. I just see the Titans winning a close game by 3 touchdowns

League circles that don't include the odds makers in Vegas I guess that as of today have KC at the 3rd best odds to win the SB and the Tits at 11 with 1/3rd the chance.

Then again you are an idiot who claimed you will hold KC to 12 pts. I guess I missed where you have Tampa's 2020 defense and we are missing 4 of 5 OL starters going into the game.

Don’t turn the ball over, get 3-4 stops on defense….that should be the M.O. with this team. With that formula, this O will put up 30+ points on 8-9 time consuming drives….most other teams, with 4-5 scoring opportunities, aren’t going to get to 30….

No turnovers and at least one defensive stop will be enough for the Chiefs to win.

Tennessee’s defense sure as hell isn’t stopping the Chiefs.

Even Jacksonville had almost 500 yards of total offense against them earlier this season… they are terrible.

Greetings y'all.

This is always an interesting game. Short week for my Titans and we've been a veritable M*A*S*H unit in the last few weeks. Over 20 players on the injury roster two weeks ago. Julio Jones and AJ Brown nursing hammys. And when both returned for the Buffalo game, Julio reinjured his. AJ Brown played through food poisoning and found his rhythm in the second half. But our first round corner tore his ACL and is out for the season, as well as one of our reserve receivers who also returned kickoffs for us. And our left tackle Lewan had a nasty concussion in that game and it would really surprise me if he's cleared on a short week.

Ryan Tannehill easily had his worst first half that I'd seen from him since he began as starting QB in Tennessee. Fortunately 2nd half Tanny was a lot better and completed his last 9 passes. He also had a running TD, no turnovers and amazingly, no sacks.

And Derrick Henry continues to burnish a Hall of Fame resume. In 6 games he's run 100+ yards for the last 5. He's run for more yards in the first 6 games than anyone in history. He's on pace for a 2000 yard season....without needing the 17th game.

But you guys have Patrick and company, which means that despite an uneven season, everyone still expects KC to pull it out in the end and make the playoffs. We're in one of our toughest parts of the season where we have Buffalo, KC, Indy and the Rams. I'd be happy if we got through this 2-2. KC would be nice for the 2nd win, but we have no delusions on how hard this will be.

The problem with this load for Henry is that it seems to always catch up to him come playoff time. The 17th game is only going to exacerbate this problem.

Thanks for the kind words. We're all football fans here and we can root for our teams without being jerks abut it. And fun fact, an old friend (and ex-girlfriend) is a huge Chiefs fan in KC. I'm sure that when I speak to her in a day or two that she'll put me in my place for any hopes I might have in this game.

I would be stunned it's only 10 players except that we keep losing people to IR.

I'd be shocked if Julio played. They'll probably table him for a couple of weeks.

And note our kicker is nursing a shoulder injury suffered when he tried to stop a kickoff return for a TD. The Bills did return it all the way but the kicker drew a penalty which ultimately kept the game out of reach of Buffalo. But our kicker is the replacement kicker for the one that went on IR before the season began (and can technically come back now). And speaking of kickers you might now, we're the same Titans who bagged on Ryan Succop a couple years back when he got hurt, and then that dude shows up in Tampa last year. We have a bad habit of cutting kickers loose too quickly.

This cinches it.

Have the Titans ever actually had a window?

You've already said that.

I think the best way to stop Henry is to have KC wolf run him down with the four wheeler from the tunnel. Chiefs by 10

Didn't the line start at 4?

Money flooding in on KC?

They're guaranteed to win their division this year. That must be nice.

Watson looked like something but now he's on the way out. We'll see what Trevor Lawrence can do in the coming years. The Colts have some good players but haven't been good since Luck retired.

wachashi 10-21-2021 09:55 AM

No other away team is currently favored by more this week than the Chiefs at 5.5 against the Titans. Henry will rush for 100+ but it simply won't be enough...according to Vegas.

In the words of the great Samuel Clemons, "The report of the Chiefs demise was an exaggeration".

So take the Tits & points? Gotcha!

No guarantees in this league. But if we go 2 for 3 in the next series of games and 1 of those 3 is the Colts game, then I like our chances.

The four wheeler would have to at least get 22 MPH. And it might not survive the stiff-arm :)

Speaking of Derrick Henry, he needs 137 yards to make 1000 yards in week 7.

If he rushes for 2 TDs, he joins Earl Campbell and Eddie George as the only Oliers/Titans with 70+ career TDs.

If he rushes for 117 yards + 2 rushing TDs, he joins Jim Brown and Terrell Davis as the only ones to do 900+ yards and 12 rushing TDs by week 7.

If he rushes for 125 yards and 1 rushing TD, he joins Larry Johnson, Frank Gore, Terrell Davis and OJ Simpson as the only players to do that in four consecutive games in the Super Bowl era.

If he rushes for 3 TDs then he'll join LaDainian Tomlinson as the other player to do that in three consecutive games in NFL history.

How did the Titans lose to the Jets....the Bills game was the first time I've seen them this year. They kind of looked like they do every year...like a 10 win team.

KChiefs1 10-21-2021 03:42 PM

Chiefs have lost to the 1, 2 & 4 seeds in the AFC.

Maybe, I know it's crAzy. The Bills are just not that good. The only team they beat was a sorry Chiefs team(at the time :) ).

Dude is just a beast, and most guys don’t really want to try to tackle him and be part of his highlight reel. He’s a bad ass, and my favorite part of the Tits.

Imagine him on that Joe’s vs Pros show, and to win the grand prize you have to stop Henry before he gets 10 yards. No Joe’s are winning that one. I miss that show.

This Joe would be in traction.

It's hard to beat a team twice in a season.

Very unique in this version of the NFL as well. You just dont see dudes like that anymore.

The other top runners are more finesse and shifty guys who can break a tackle here and there.
