I couldnt find it....but I think they did it twice during the farley years....

They often did a USA for africa type of thing.....where Farley was Meatloaf...but even better, the fat chick from wilson phillips.

You had sandler doing axel rose, Spade doing Tom Petty, Phil Hartman doing Elton John, etc. etc.

Dont know why, but those always made me laugh out loud.

That's probably part of it. They don't have good writing right now. Even the skits that aren't political aren't that funny

Norm Macdonald's a comic genius. His Dole was awesome

It reminds me of when they could do presidential skits without the venom that's in it now

One had I think the 2000 nominees all talking. Whoever played McCain was going on and on about being a former prisoner of war in Nam. Ferrell's W was said something like "You were in Nam? Really? 'Cause I hadn't heard."

Hopefully Ferrell has a great show tonight. And Murphy's appearance should be good too

This reminds me of an obscure skit I've always remembered for some reason: What if Superman landed in Germany?

Uberman!

"You have X ray vision? Can you see through my clothes?"
"Ya. His, too! *points at Jimmy's crotch* He's a Jew!"

Oh, a bonus I'd forgotten: Michael Palin as Hitler.

The "K-I-L my landlord" prison authors bit.
Dana Carvey as Tom Brokaw announcing the death of Gerald Ford.
Chris Farley finding out he's been drinking decaf.

John Belushi performing with Joe Cocker.

Debbie Downer is simultaneously funny and absolutely god-awful.

I mean FFS people - hold it together. When you're getting checked by Lindsay Lohan, maybe you need to do a better job of not breaking. That said...watching Rachel Dratch lose the war badly was pretty funny.

It's like all the Stefon skits - they're funny, but nowhere near as funny when Hader does them straight. The best moments are ones like the Sidney Applebaum break.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KBCUz0Ugdzc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Hader recognizing that absolute absurdity of everything he's doing is what makes that character.

scho63 11-25-2019 09:42 AM

This was so risque in how they did this skit. Funny as hell.

At this point, I've lost nearly all sense of what is common knowledge and what is a revelatory bit of trivia, . . . but Ace and Gary were voiced by Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert, . . . before either of them even got their big break with The Daily Show. Though I guess Colbert did have a recurring role on Strangers with Candy.

But my favorite all-time TV Funhouse isn't even a favorite for its humor, though it's still hilarious just not laugh out loud hilarious. More 'that is quality writing' hilarious.

Darlene Love is a national treasure

It's just a quality production all around, smart writing, smart visuals, smart mastering of the song and a great singing performance, . . . and that's before you even get to the funny, . . . if you know what I mean.

I've never been a big Jim Carrey fan, but my dad never watched SNL and I remember recording this on my VCR in '96 and showing it to him. He discovered a whole new world of comedy. Jim Carrey the lifeguard, and if you notice, Will Ferrell hasn't changed a bit.

That entire SNL ep with Carrey on it was hilarious.
