The Bills take the AFC title of “Most Disappointing 2023 team”

Is that what you meant to say? Because I’m in 100 percent agreement.

Their defense isn’t going to get to feast on shitty QB and offensive play this year.

When they go 10-7, make the wildcard round, and lose on the road to the 3 seed, don’t forget you heard it here first.

Let me see if I have this straight...

By drafting a few rookies with potential, signing a few mediocre FAs, and getting a quality vet back (while also losing one of their best defensive players), the Bills have vaulted ahead of a team that lost no one of significance, added rookies with potential, and signed several quality FAs.

Did I get that right?

RaidersOftheCellar 08-22-2023 08:11 AM

Best part of this is the suggestion that the Bills' "hearts weren't in it" almost two weeks after Hamlin was released from the hospital. LMAO LMAO

Yeah, imagine if a Titans fan showed up here or on a Bengals forum talking about taking the AFC this season and how successful they've been against SB contenders (I mean, we have Jeff Fisher, but he's obviously satire).

That's really what we're talking about here.

The Bills can have the better roster, QB, paper championships, September and October trophies... but it's easy to see here who the real contenders have been in the AFC.

Here are the (at most) most recent 3 year playoff stretches...
The big differences with the comparison is the Bengals have accomplished more in just 2 playoff seasons than the Bills have in 3, and even if it was the past 4 seasons for the Titans and Bills (not skipping the Titans' non-playoff year), you're just adding in that awful, awful playoff loss for the Bills 4 years ago, which then puts them at 4-4.

7-2, 1 SB win, 2 SB appearances, 2 AFCCG wins, 3 AFCCG appearances, 3-1 against the other 3.

5-2, 1 SB appearance, 1 AFCCG win, 2 AFCCG appearances, 3-1 against the other 3

4-3, 1 AFCCG appearance, 0-3 against the other 3

2-3, 1 AFCCG appearance, 0-2 against the other 3

Bad drafting and back coaching has caught up to you. If you were smart you'd fire McDermott after this season and hire Mike Kafka who is doing a great job in NY.

Trading Allen now when they can absolutely rape a team & set themselves up for years. Allen's blueprint will only get itched deeper. Between the ears? is not the right stuff. That move is only for like 2% of the NFL ownership gamblers. That's not Buffalo

Buffalo finishes 3rd in the AFC East, misses the playoffs, and McDermott is fired.

Wallcrawler 08-22-2023 10:47 AM

McDerpitt has to be on borrowed time. With all of the hype given to the Bills by the media, deserved or not, this is now a franchise with Superbowl aspirations, no matter how far detached from reality that is.

Allen is like a more athletic Jeff George. Cannon arm, empty head.

Diggs is a pouting little bitch now that things have repeatedly failed.

Their defense is not what it was during their best shot at a run, which was 13 seconds, but even then, I think Lou Anarumo is able to shut down the Bills offense and the Bengals go to the superbowl vs the Rams anyway.

Josh Allen simply is not poised and calculating enough with the game on the line. Boat racing bad teams, the guy looks like a billion dollars.

In the last game he played that mattered, this qb that is supposedly on Mahomes level threw for just 264 yards and a pick, his one touchdown coming on a 1 yard run on the way to mustering just 10 points in the playoffs.

Bills ain't taking anything from anyone this season.

I was just thinking earlier today how annoying it is that the Bengals get a QB like Burrow and they just throw guys in there like 'this should do' while teams like KC, Philly, Balt and LAC try and build actual walls right away in front of their franchise QBs.

We'll see how the annual tweak goes this year...

Yeah, but they've been really bad at it. Really bad.

Could have re-signed Andrew Whitworth but they thought he was getting too old, so they drafted big time busts Cedic Ogbuehi and Jake Fisher in 2015 and let Whit go to LAR, play 5 more years, win a ship and stamp his ticket to Canton.

Drafted:
Billy Price in '18
Jonah Williams in '19
Jackson Carman in '21
Cordell Volson in '22

Picked up guys like Bobby Hart, Quinton Spain, Eric Winston and Cordy Glenn through FA and trades. All shit other than average play by Williams and Spain.

Last year they signed Alex Cappa and Ted Karras and they've been solid, as well as La'el Collins who's average on a good day. This year, they picked up OBj and moved Williams to RT.

This will be the "best" line (if they stay healthy) that Burrow has had and if they can just be average, i'll be happy.

Fire elite DC. ✅
Piss off elite WR. ✅
Fix the O-line. ❌
Replace MLB. ❌
Find a CB2. ❌
Add weapons for Allen. ✅
Lose kick returner to Jetski assault. ✅
Lose top backup at OT. ✅

Congrats. You got a rookie TE. The Lamar Hunt Trophy will be yours any day now!

Dipshit. If you go break a table with your giant ass RIGHT NOW you might make this season memorable, because you'll **** that up too and end up in the hospital for months, watching the Bills lose the AFC East to the Jets on a tiny TV.

1) Allen was flat garbage until Diggs. Mahomes has been great since day 1.
2) Allen is a fumble/pick machine. Mahomes is one of the least mistake-prone (good) QBs in history.
3) Mahomes is a 2 time champ/2 time MVP/2 time SB MVP. Allen's most notable achievement to date is coming within 13 seconds of beating Mahomes in the divisional round.

A team left feeling like a bunch of shitty pussies. Is no easy fix, when confidence is half the battle

This sums things up very well. :thumb:

FFS, this clown is STILL talking like the Bills have been successful at Arrowhead and "they love Arrowhead".
Did I dream that the Bills have won 2 of their last 3 at Arrowhead?

Sure you can wash those wins away by saying they didn’t happen in the playoffs… but they still happened at Arrowhead!

It’s funny to me how ONE game changes everyone’s perception.

The Bills held the #1 Seed in the AFC, with a 13-3 record, and the best odds to win the Super Bowl, prior to Hamlin going down last year.

They lose ONE GAME, and now all of a sudden they’re shit?

Interesting take.

Let’s see how it plays out…

Mahomes is definitely better.

No argument there.

Id pick Mahomes #1 in league redraft and Allen #2.

But comparing from the beginning isn’t going to work, because Allen admittedly sucked his rookie year.

But what about lately?

Lately he led the league in turnovers and got his ass caved in at home in a home playoff game.

Lately, he's ****ing Vinny Testaverde with wheels.

Stay in your ****ing lane. You should be thrilled drafting Josh Allen has brought you a new stadium, because that old one was starting to smell like rancid buffalo wings. Anything else is gravy.

What's with the weird game number? There's no reason to cut that at 40 games, unless you're trying to game the stats and find the best comparison for the guy you're trying to spotlight.

Let's look at it since Allen got Diggs (2020, right?)

Allen:
49 games 65.2% completions, 7.4 Y/A, 11.4 Y/C, 15,180 combined yards, 129 TDs, 85 sacks for 485 yards (Net 14,695 yards), 61 turnovers

Mahomes:
49 games, 66.6% completions, 7.8 Y/A, 11.8 Y/C, 15,310 combined yards, 124 TDs, 76 sacks for 481 yards (Net 14, 829 yards), 42 turnovers

So literally the only edge Allen has in that comparison is in total TDs, by 5 (he has more rushing yards but fewer passing yards and fewer combined yards). And the Bills are using him as a runner, especially in the red zone... which is one reason his fumble count is higher. And isn't good for the longevity of a QB.

You guys really need Rousseau to take a big step this year bc Von is coming off another major knee injury at 34. And I have no idea why the **** you guys paid Ed Oliver. Makes zero sense.

AFC East isn't a cake walk anymore. The Jets finally have a top end QB with weapons to go with that top 5 defense and the Dolphins getting Vic Fangio might be the biggest off-season addition in the league.
