Guess that depends on your definition of cheap. He would not get as much as Breeland. He has not shown to be in his league yet. If the entire league losses the cap space that is being speculated all FA players are going to take a hit. It is hard to imagine what the Chiefs or any other team might have to do to overcome the Cap going down $50 Million.

Ward easily gets more than Breeland on the open market.

Ward is not as good as Breeland. Ward has never made a play like Breeland did against Edelman. Ward is not in his class yet. Remember he got burnt in the playoffs with a blown coverage.

Who do we pay?

I’d keep Chris Jones & Charvarius Ward.

The rest are replaceable.

What about the 1 handed INT in the endzone that Ward made, I believe it was against Hopkins.

Found it.

Trade for assets:

Chris Jones

Let walk:

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif
Daniel Sorensen
Sammy Watkins
Damien Wilson
Damien Williams
Austin Reiter

Re-sign to a "middle class" contract, but let go if they're demanding Top Tier money:

Tanoh Kpassagnon
Charvarius Ward

Make effort to get a bargain, then let walk:

Bashaud Breeland
Demarcus Robinson

100% re-sign so long as they're cheap:

Byron Pringle
Andrew Wylie
Mike Pennel
Antonio Hamilton
Darrel Williams
Ben Niemann
Anthony Sherman
Ricky Seals-Jones

Shrug:

Taco Charlton
Elijah McGuire
Devaroe Lawrence
Jordan Ta'amu
Chris Lammons
Ryan Hunter
Andrew Soroh
Emmanuel Smith
Nick Keizer
Tyler Newsome
Braxton Hoyett
Joe Fortson

You'll probably also need to cut Eric Fisher, Hitchens, and Okafor.

Extend Kelce and Mathieu.

You're looking, right now, at having 8 draft picks in the 2021, with our 6 normal picks (subtracting the 6th we traded away) and a compensatory 4th and 5th.

Maybe a couple middle-tier free agents, but most likely going to be a similar small-sized free agency class.

And that'll be your team.

But that's a challenge. Because you're going to have big holes at WR, DE, DT, LB, and maybe CB.

Or they could do the unthinkable. Trade Pat and keep every one else. I keed, I keed. :D

Nice plan.

1695 NFL players don't have a contract after 6 years.

With a team friendly 3 years on the front end of Mahones contract, do you change your plan?

Pitt Gorilla 07-06-2020 09:16 PM

Most of those just don't matter. Draft, sign, whatever.

I change my 2021 plan more than my 2020 plan, to be honest. Mahomes just made 2021 a ton easier.

But as of now, I probably make a more concentrated push on Jones, to either sign him, trade him for a player, or trade him for draft capital and go for Clowney & Snacks.

My personal preference would be to keep him.

Clowned isn’t a inside player and has never had a double digit sack season and is constantly injured and wants 20 mil but yet people want him instead of Jones....
