"Pose a threat"? As in, "...to beat KC in an AFCCG, probably at Arrowhead"? There aren't even 5.

1.) Ravens
2.) Maybe Titans
3.) If the stars align, Patriots or Steelers.

The only way the Chiefs lose is if a team comes up with an amazing defense AND gets a whole lot of breaks. Those are the teams that could do it. The rest of the AFC is cannon fodder for KC.

I think five is a difficult number. How about two teams per division?

AFC East: Bills, Pats
AFC North: Ravens, Steelers
AFC South: Titans, Texans
AFC West: Raiders

Looks none of these teams really scare me. Ravens are probably the most difficult out, but I'm interested to see if Jackson can follow up what he did last year. There are three other teams that could present challenges, Browns, Broncos, and Colts. With each of those teams its how good their QB play is.

Fun time to be a Chiefs fan and being on top, but there is plenty of talent that the Chiefs need to keep an eye on.

I think the Broncos will be a competitive team.

They’re a little overhyped now though

9-7, swept by KC again

#1: Ravens (easily the 2nd best team in the league; Lamar Jackson has a weakness-throwing the football, but that offense is still very difficult to stop)
#2: Steelers (This is assuming that Big Ben isn't done; if he isn't, he's the 2nd best quarterback in the AFC and a threat to score against our defense)
#3: Bills (Defense is great but they'd need improvement from Allen to pose any real threat, he is awful)
#4: Titans (They pose issues with the running game, but I can't help but feel we saw the peak of this team last year and still handled them relatively easily; let's see Tannehill repeat what he did last year).
#5 Colts (This is assuming Rivers isn't done; if he isn't, the Colts are a good team but not one that should worry the Chiefs at all)

Colts will shock this year.

Chiefs vs Colts in the AFC championship

I could also see the Patriots being a threat as well if they got a better quarterback than Stidham. It's not like Brady was actually good last year, but you can't expect them to win anything with Stidham.

Bills/Colts/Texans/Broncos/Dolphins

I'm really not sold on the Ravens. Their division will be more competitive this year. They are not very strong in their secondary imo. And their run offense from last year won't be able to put up 30+ points at will again. They still lack a legit Nr.1 wide receiver. I don't see it.

The Colts on the other hand have vastly improved. They added a stud running back in Taylor and a very solid wideout in Pittman. They added Buckner to their defense and drafted the safety Blackmon. That team is very well coached and I can see Rivers have a better year than people think.

The Chiefs are the best team in the NFL but overall there are more genuinely very good teams in the NFC than the AFC.

2. Daylight
3. Ravens
4. Daylight
5 - 11 Broncos, Colts, Steelers, Bills, Texans, Patriots, Titans

Very little to separate the 5-11 teams as their status will largely be determined by injuries and momentum.

Don’t see any other teams having the potential to turn into contention to go deeper than week 1 of the playoffs.

Ravens Titans Bills Broncos Texans

Megatron96 05-31-2020 05:32 PM

This is the NFL. Any team can beat any team for one game.

But a true challenge to the Chiefs to win the AFC?

Maybe the Ravens or the Steelers. A lot depends on how much (if any) Lamar improves his passing game. And will Ben return to form.

Just ranking the AFC teams behind the Chiefs:

Ravens
Steelers
Chargers
Bills
Colts

The Colts seem an awful lot like the 2015/16 Chiefs. Really good solid football teams that just end up running into better QB's in the playoffs where you cant really rely on other teams making mistakes.

The Steelers are really talented, but it'll come down to what Big Ben has left.

The Ravens are really good roster wise. It's the Chiefs and the Ravens then everyone else at this point and we have a force multiplier at QB.

The rest of the afc are playing for first loser!

Rain Man 05-31-2020 06:51 PM

Tier 1 - Chiefs
Tiers 2 through 4 - None
Tier 5 - Ravens, Colts, Texans
Tier 6 - Patriots, Bills, Titans
Tier 7 - Jets, Dolphins, Jaguars, Chargers, Raiders
Tier 8 - Bengals, Browns, Steelers, Broncos

Mahomes_Is_God 05-31-2020 06:56 PM

I'd say the Ravens are our nicest door mat. All the other ones are getting dingy and ratty. We should probably throw them out.
