Welp, that's a lot of cap going to the probation office sooner rather than later. Great job Chiefs!

Your disapproval of this move is very very reassuring to me. Thanks.

I do wonder if this means Hill is less likely to get paid after this season more than anything. He may have ****ed himself and they went defense with his $$.

No way Hill gets a long term deal this year or probably in the off season. If it’s not guaranteed $’s due to off the field issues so the Chiefs aren’t stuck with a long term suspended but getting paid Hill.

3 years and 2 option years.

I understand, but that restructure is going to put a contract right back on the books that is just like Justin Houston.

We dropped Houston and Ford because of money. Now we are adding the same money back onto the team, at the same position. People said we cut expensive edge rushers because Spagnuolo didn't want those edge rushers.

We trade Ford(13 sacks) and get a 2nd.
We trade a 1st, a 2nd and we swap 3rds for Clark(13 sacks)

More reasons than money.

Good. That's how it should have been worked out.

How so?

It's been well established that it was a team wide decision. Yes, Veach "Banged the table" for him, but EVERYONE was on board. Dorsey wanted him. Reid wanted him. Clark wanted him. It wasn't just Veach.

And it was Dorsey who pulled off a masterful trade to make it happen.

I have yet to see Veach pull off a trade of that caliber.

I might be one of the few that doesn’t think this is a bad deal as long as the Chiefs don’t hinder their ability to sign the players they need to sign.

We got a better player than anyone we could have gotten (most likely) at #29. Some people on here are placing way too much value on a late 1st round pick (essentially it’s a high 2nd). We really only gave up the worst of our 2nds next year for a high end pass rusher. This is a much better deal in retrospect.

JimBaker48.8 04-23-2019 12:23 PM

Why didn't the Chiefs trade for Jadeveon Clowney who's also available and a better player than Clark ?

Jerm 04-23-2019 12:23 PM

The more I think about this....the more I really like it.

I'm not married to draft picks like others, did think a 1st should've been a no, but keeping both 2nds this year was huge.

Clark and Jones are going to wreck people next season.

Hammock Parties 04-23-2019 12:23 PM

This is hot.

Veach is all in for the SB.

This changes the entire dynamic of our defense.

After his drama, he's earned himself a prove it year.

'Reek will get paid next offseason when Watkins comes off the books.

Because 2 of your 4 names are not even-front scheme friendly.
