He specifically said that the $23 million in cap space is projected for Chris Jones or to rollover for Pat next year

If that were the case, why wouldn't the just pay Jones now?

Why risk him having another monster year and then his price tag goes up even more...

You heard it here first.

Jesus Christ what an absolutely awful trade for the Chiefs.

Listen to Ringleader, there's more to this trade then meets the eye.

its about shifting around money, plus if the Jags want a first round pick and a player who else could we give up that they would want? they need help on offense desperately.

Nobody is giving Two 1st round draft picks for Ramsey. Especially since Ramsey is going to want crazy money next year too.

if i was a team who made an offer i would be pissed. there is a huge risk for injury if he plays thursday

Ok, I've kinda figured out Terez read on this this.

The Chiefs want Ramsey, I'm guessing with the way Veach is pretty badly. But they don't wanna pay what they want or are asking so they're gonna ride it out to see if they come down on it.

if they wait it out or as you say - 'ride it out' - he'll get scooped up.

You do realize we actually lose cap space this year by trading him, right? Not to mention we'd be losing a pretty damn valuable piece of our offense. Giving Watkins that contract only to have him play in roughly 12 or so games then ship him off as a cheap throw in would be grounds for termination.

Terez has broken plenty of Chiefs news. The Alex Smith trade. Multiple FA signings, including Mathieu. He was the only person in the national media with inside knowledge throughout the Tyreek situation even if none of it was exactly 'breaking news'. And even if he's not the first person to report something, if it's KC related he always has an article with info about it that nobody else has.

Of course he's not the only person to trust on Chiefs news, but there's nobody more plugged into the Chiefs than he is. And he clearly still focuses on Chiefs content despite his national gig. He has a show on 610, it's not about what the Rams or Titans are doing.

This was my thinking too, but I wasn't understanding it correctly. According to the story on NFL.com, he will be inactive for tomorrow night's game. They just won't trade him until Friday.

I can't see this story not leaking before friday, to many media sources out there that just can't wait to break the story wide open.
