All of that said, it sure seems like they're setting up an Heir to the Empire type of story.
The New Republic X Wing pilot said "There's something going on out here. They don't believe it on the Core Worlds but it's true. These aren't isolated incidents - they need to be stopped before it's too late but we can't do it without local support". Sounds to me as if Thrawn is gathering all of the Imperial forces out on the Outer Rim. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. |
Makes sense Dane. Thanks.
|
I'd laugh if Filoni and Favreau pulled an end-around on Kathleen Kennedy to make their own Thrawn sequel trilogy, set up by the Mandalorian, that shits all over the "official" sequel trilogy.
The fans would never watch 7, 8 and 9 ever again. Might as well be "Legends" at that point. LMAO If Luke shows up in the Mandalorian, we're halfway there basically. |

No leaks at all this week that I'm aware of. And I'm off work tomorrow, so I don't have to watch at 5 am on 6 hours of sleep. Thank the maker.
I don't have any idea what's going on tomorrow. Which is both great and bad. What I see online are people expecting them to go to Tython right away, and immediately bring in Ezra, or Sabastian Stan as young Like, or Yaddle. I don't think any of that is going to happen. Press shortly before the season talked about a tonal shift in the story's narrative about halfway through the season. It was loosely confirmed by Favreau. We maybe saw a bit of that last week, with a somber, almost angry (IMO of course) Ahsoka. But aside from that, not much change. Giancarlo Esposito has had a big presence promoting the show this year. But he's barely been on it. I think that changes this week. I think this is the turning point. I don't think they head to Tython, I think they get side tracked, as they always do, and I think this is when Gideon strikes. We'll see. |
I guess fans are pushing for Jason Iassacs as Thrawn
|
Benedict Cumberbatch, too, I've seen.
I'd go for Lars Mikkelsen... |
Oh and now I'm working tomorrow after all.
**** my life. |

How could he miss so so bad on casting Anakin? That was really hard to do. |
Quote:
I can't see any of those guys as Anakin, either. DiCaprio really wanted the role and Lucas was keen to hire him, until negotiations with his agent went sideways because DiCaprio insisted on "Creative Input". Once that happened, he was out. All that said, the rest of the cast was stellar, from Keira Knightly, Natalie Portman, Rose Byrne (who I love!), Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Temuera Morrison, Christoper Lee and so many more. It's just a damn shame that Lucas missed on his star. |
So who said the resurrection of Boba Fett was a bad idea?

It might be exciting for some that they keep bringing in cameos from Star Wars Greatest Hits library every week on this show, but I think it's getting away from the promise of Season 1 and just becoming fanfare at this point. I don't care if I'm in the minority, but Season 1 was better imo. Need to get back to the Mandalorian's past and the world building they did in Season 1. This is just the most random, unlikely assembly of characters from so many different mediums of Star Wars history that it's just implausible at this point. I hope they subvert my expectations in the last couple episodes, but they're bringing in all these characters too fast, making them one or two episode retcons instead of giving it time to breathe.

Dane, I noticed a lot of it looked like it was filmed on location rather than using the ‘The Volume’ |

As I previously mentioned, there are 10 Star Wars series currently in "Development". Now, Development doesn't mean that it will automatically go to series but what it means is that Lucasfilm is interested in developing a "Concept" for a TV show. If the concept gets past the first stage, they'll put together a Writer's Room in order to write a "Book" or what some refer to as a "Bible", for a a minimum of 24 episodes. This "Book" will map out the beginning, middle and end of the series, generally with 1 or 2 page description of what happens in each episode. From that point, Lucasfilm will either continue developing the series, which will include artwork, some story boards and more detail, along with a "Treatment" for each episode, which will provide more detail about the episode, some character background and so on. If everything works out, the series will move to the next phase in which casting and a Pilot are set. Bob Iger indicated this year that they're planning to use The Mandalorian as an anchor for spinoff properties, which is why we're beginning to see characters like Bo-Katan, Ahsoka and Boba Fett this season because they want to gauge the audience reaction via streaming numbers. So far in Season 2, the streaming numbers have been astronomical, which has also led to huge streaming numbers for The Clone Wars series, because people want to find out more about Ahsoka, Bo-Katan, the Mandalorians, The "Purge" and so on. Disney+ is making sure that this is happening organically, meaning that they're carefully monitoring all internet chatter and streaming numbers because their goal of 175 million subscribers by 2025 won't happen without a very, very strong Star Wars presence on the service. |

I wonder with her deal if disney will be an ongoing story arc for thrawn. Starts in mandolorian with the build up. Arc ends in mandolorian and continues in a new show. Maybe with a live action rebels with more thrawn. Then ends in a ashoka centric show. Think of marvel's defenders.

I think it makes more sense for Ahsoka to have signed a TV deal in which she'll appear in the Rogue One Series as Fulcrum (which ramps up early next month) and probably even the Obi Wan series. But I find it a bit difficult to imagine a three picture deal at this point in time because the only films that are currently in solid development are Kevin Fiege's, Taika's and a film by "newcomers". From my understanding, they're wanting these new films to appear in a different timeline than the Skywalker saga, so that pretty much rules out Ahsoka, unless there's new info available that I haven't heard about yet, which could certainly be the case. I’ve not watched the rebels or clone wars.
Did Gorgu exist in the Star Wars universe before the Mandolarian? Because I’ve never heard that name. This is 5 years after the fall of the empire, right? So does that mean since he’s new to us, Gorgu didn’t exist in canon before, he’s supposed to die or they changed the canon? Not asking for spoilers. If there are spoilers. Just wanting to know the speculation. |

All we know about his past has been via Ahsoka Tano's exposition and the hologram transmission from Dr. Pershing. |

Not a whole lot of Jedi content in the Sequel Trilogy that would point to Grogru. I haven't heard the name before but I really only watched the movies and this TV show. I want to say that Grogru is still pretty young but then Ahsoka made it sound like he had already spent a lot of time in training, so...I think they have free reign with the character. |
