This is kind of one reason why I became a deliberate Terrance Copper fan. Fans were always looking to replace all these dudes they perceived as having zero value. And year after year, they'd be exasperated on cutdown day when Copper was still on the 53 man roster.

Look, I can't explain Reid's choices. All I know is he's made the same choice at the FB position for the past 6 seasons on a player who could have easily have been let go 3 or possibly even 4 times but instead keeps hanging around on 1-year deals.

Pitt, do you actually believe Sherman is still here because there just wasn't anybody else on the team to do his job over that time? I don't think Reid is terribly interested in trying to develop players to take Sherman's spot on the team, because if he were, I seriously doubt we'd keep bringing back Sherman!

Sherman is here because Reid wants a FB, and he specifically wants Sherman to be the FB. It's been that way for 6 years with exactly ZERO real competition being brought in to challenge Sherman's spot on the team. It's just really stupid at this point to go, "Hopefully we can cut some corners on the roster if this guy could double dip at positions and take Sherman's spot here..."
