Bonus FTs already on that "foul" from Harris. Beneficial stuff.
We seem to be our own worst enemy
Hahaj i love these refs
Heroes |
Hands on D.
One problem with this team is we dont have guys that draw FTAs
Not sure what he’s crying about. He literally threw an elbow at Zuby.
LOL Filipowski shocked they called a foul on that.
Filipowski is lucky that elbow didn't connect or he'd be kicked out of the game.

Cant worry about Gradey not making shots RN
He needs to be in the ball game |

Watching us throw lobs tonight makes me appreciate Ochai even more. His athleticism allowed A LOT of margin for error on those passes.
Not sure how we r supposed to score with this lineup
Flop
We have four non scorers in the game at the same time
We're missing Self

How was that not a tie up?

****ing calm down on the blocks and defend and rebound. They've figured out that we're coming for the blocks and cutting to the bucket and rebounding hard.
Handing us our asses. |
MJ Rice looks like a guy who can get to the line alot. Really missing him
Duke is just playing harder and much more physical. Intensity level a lot higher. It's paying dividends with the refs too.

I mean we are 10% from 3...playing harder has nothing to do with that |
Nice to get a few OREB for ourselves.
Duke is shooting in the low 30's, I mean if we could only rebound.

3 ****ing fouls LOL
CLUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone have clutch KJ Adams bucket on their bingo card?
Nice ****ing play Adams.
Bilas being a bitch about fouls, showing his colors
Now it costs Duke to not have had the refs call any fouls on them all half. LMAO
So Duke can just tackle Wilson?
Not sure how that wasn’t flagrant. He just blasted Wilson.
call the ****ing flagrant
Epic score for KU. Hope it ends with this score.

Dick certainly showed up when it mattered. Hard and strong to the hole.
The win of a championship team.
Nice game hawks.
I gotta say Duke played well enough to win, and KU brought it. Which we haven't always done in this event. Well done, Hawks. |
That’s a gutty win.
Nice post defense all around. Zuby, Adams, Udeh. Wilson looks like an All American. Dick is instant offense. Super efficient game from Harris. |
Nice win! I hate Duke, so was very satisfying to see them pull out some Dick!
Dick sitting so much in the 2nd half was odd.
RCJH GO KU! :KU:
Was a nice comeback, good job routing this team on boys.
Zuby is way better than I expected. The 5 looks really good, at least defensively. Udeh still clearly has the highest upside. We should be able to play good post defense though.
KU shot 10% better than Duke and had 13 more assists, so it would have been a shame to have lost it due to rebounds/loose balls and bad turnovers. Fortunately, their greater experience came through at the end to close it out.
It does look for now like Wilson has taken a bit of a step forward this year. We'll see if he can start making more 3s. |

I was surprised at how lost Lively looks. The ability is clearly there, but he looked completely out of sorts.

That is optimistic. Mostly because that's what the rest of the B12 has as a gameplan. |
Nice game for the Jayhawks! Why was Dick on the bench so long in the 2nd half?
Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk |
Harris was amazing.
KCC doesn’t like him for unknown reasons |
They finally put Gradey in and he hits the biggest 3 of the game.
KU was down 1 and Duke had the ball. Here at Gainbridge Fieldhouse they played my late dad's favorite song that he sang on his death bed "Sweet Caroline". I turned to everyone and said. This is OVER. KU just won. |

This was my final post about Harris in the thread two years ago leading into the championship year comparing him to Garrett. Quote:
https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...s#post16154197 And this was my post from last February questioning someone who was bashing Harris about who would play over him. Let's try to keep the callouts with some kind of basis in reality next time. Harris has his offensive flaws, but they need his defense and decision making. |
You’re begging me to de-pants you on this one bro

And Wilson has definitely taken on the role of leader and scorer. |
Quote:
I like Udeh, too, but he seems a little slow and clueless at times. And for all the crap that Adams gets, he plays hard, doesn't make many mistakes, and gives the team good energy. And he made some plays down the stretch, offensively and defensively. It was good to see that 7ft freshman on Duke go down in flames. Actually, that guy was really good. But a very cocky, very punchable Duke face. |
I’ve often said that Wilson is a better outside shooter than his percentage, but he does need to learn to stop shooting it when it isn’t falling.
If it’s contested, use the shot fake more to drive (which almost always works in college basketball). He’s such an effective driver that he doesn’t need to settle for guarded 3’s. That alone will improve that percentage. |

Nice early (in the season) win. Unfortunately I fell asleep until the final 30 seconds. :(
McCullar and JW are *not* good deep shooters. JW wants to flash this for the nba but 0-7 last nite was a drag. And most of them were open anyway. We need a 2nd shooter.
Also we have zero post offense for the first time I can remember jn like, my life. Maybe the 1-2 years circa 1999 of Eric ChenoBitch |

.... And kicked it back out. FFS, JUST ****ING TURN AND SHOOT. ****. I think at 6'3 and 30 years old or whatever I was at the time out of shape as ****, I think I could have scored at least a couple times out of 10 with that post entry. JUST DO SOMETHING. At Cliffs size, whatever he did, if he did it strong it would have worked. https://wompampsupport.azureedge.net...F247%2F297.png /RANT ------------- Objectively, though it makes sense. There isn't much of that in the NBA these days. Embiid and Jokic is about it right? At least dudes that are effective. In college it's Drew Timme and Orlando Bacot right? The NBA and NCAA games are leaning towards space and shooting. Plus, even in the lower leagues, the amount of coaches that looked at Hakeem Olajuwon and thought, "I can teach my guy to do that" are probably out of the game these days. As a guy that appreciates elite post play (like we had when Danny) it saddens me. I LOVE the efficiency of a good post player. But it isn't the game. I also love good movement and spacing and shooting. Basically I love good, technically sound ball. But I think some coaches are missing the boat with post play. But whatever, if Wilson can play like he did against Puke, the dish/OREB game works for our guys. |
