The ONLY reason why Bell is here is because the NYJ are paying about 99% of his salary.

If Bell causes any locker room issues (my belief is that he wont), the Chiefs can send him packin and it won't cost them hardly anything. Def worth any risk he brings to the table.

Bell needs the Chiefs, not the other way around.

Yep, we're the ideal destination for an 8 week showcase that will put the shine back on him

Bell had one run in his entire tenure with the Jets that went 16 or more yards. His first carry as a Chief went for 16. He ended up having two 16 or longer runs with 6.5 YPC avg.

The guy is a legit top 10 back and we signed him for pennies LMAO

They didn't get a chance to run the ball much today. It was a really short game with the defensive/ST scoring.

We're going to see a lot more.

All true. And I’m not hating the signing. But, let’s call it what it is... Bell is using the chiefs as much as they are using him. Perfect Union. Damion sat out. A need for something more than Darwin or the other William (who I thought would be better than Damion). On the cheap. Championship team. Bell has the chance to make another deal. Chances are; it will not be in KC.

So I hope he has a ypc of 15 yards, it’s awesome. But it is what it is. A one night stand with a girl you never had a shot at. Don’t expect it to become a perfect marriage......

Yep. Chiefs ran 51 plays and I think read Bell was in for 17 of them.

Saw him pick up some blitzes and block well today too.

I think Bell is going to do really well here.

Meant to thumbs up that. Bell will be a HUGE pick-up for us.

Bl00dyBizkitz 10-25-2020 11:10 PM

I have a hunch another reason Bell signed with us was cause of our collision course with the Jets. He probably wants to the rip them a new one. Should be a fun game next week.

Nah, he didn't have any issues with his teammates, just the HC.

Fair.

Still, I'm sure he'd love to humiliate Gase on a better team.

He looked great today. Almost like prime Le’Veon Bell.

Concur.

I was pleasantly surprised at his quickness and speed. Not to mention his vision and footwork. I can't wait to see what Andy dials up for Bell in 4 weeks.

So ****ing glad we got him. Can't wait to see him get 10-15 carries to see how good he looks with more touches.

I can't say exactly how happy I was but I broke at least 3 commandments.

I wanted him years ago during the draft and for him to end up here for next to nothing...

I would imagine so. He went from a veritable dumpster fire to the reigning SB Champs who have a very good chance of going back and possibly repeating.

I'd just like to say for the record:

I was wrong.

I will offer this caveat: the installation of Kilgore and Alegretti has made the line much more physical, and they are now creating rushing lanes in a way that Reiter never did. Osemele was looking good, but we can now see that Reiter was a black hole of suck.

So a convergence of variables has made the Bell pick-up look really, really smart.

When Schwartz is healthy, look out.

They are run blocking well but they aren't protecting our half billion dollar qb..that has to be fixed

On a couple of those they Broncos had more than we had blockers, on those you take the inside guys and the ball has to come out fast...it didn't.

exactly.

This statement has been made dozens of times since the game. It tells me exactly who actually understands football and who does not.

Mecca 10-26-2020 09:34 AM

That first one, give Chubb credit, Mahomes knew he was going to be free which is why he was going to check it to Bell, Chubb jumped, Mahomes pulled it back to avoid a possible tipped ball int etc.

Either that or Pat needs to bring one of the RB's in to block instead of releasing them to run a route.

I'm not sure he has a lot of trust in CEH as a blocker at this point and Bell just got here so that probably factors in.

Abba-Dabba 10-26-2020 11:42 AM

Yeah, I blame Pat for those free-release sacks. You have to either adjust the protection or get the ball out fast there. Not much you can expect out of the OL when none of them were assigned to the block.

Ok, one of those Bell just ignored the blitzer, and that isn't on Mahomes. Bell is a veteran, and his lack of knowledge on the offense isn't a valid reason for missing that rusher.

I don't remember, but I don't think he played much after that.

Patrick addressed this in his post-game presser; he didn’t make the adjustments pre-snap. Wasn’t Bell’s fault.

Nice read from Paylor about Sunday, if it was six touches last week... I'm thinking 15 against these tomato cans

It was so ****ing annoying listening to whoever the guy was commentating. He had no ****ing clue what he was taking about and said it both times that basically the lineman needs to block the best pass rusher in that situation... Wtf? No that's not correct. You take the guy that has the quickest path to the guy with the ball. I believe it was Fisher that was in that situation twice and he did what he was supposed to. If he ignores the lineman, then Patrick would have even less time, because the lineman would have gotten to him faster than Chubb. Those pressures were just perfect play calls.
