I try to stay away from trading down just because I don’t see Veach ending up with 8-10 players at the end of the draft.

I keep running mocks without any trade downs and I keep ending up with either Kaiir Elam or Brisker. Then a guy like Sanders in the 2nd.
I really think this draft is setup for a 1st round DB and a 2nd round DE. |
What sites do you all use for mock drafts?

The PFF draft sim is excellent as well. So is the NFL mock draft database site. I like using a lot of different sites. Good to see different rankings of guys. Links to all of these should be in the OP if you open the spoiler link. |

He's going to be a 1st rounder, I'm betting my life savings of $0.03 on it. |

He flashes downhill and has great closing speed and power. No doubt. Didn’t see a lot of coverage reps on that video, but the interception down the left sideline was impressive. Still, it’s hard for a LB to get into the first. Lloyd and Dean look like locks. With the depth at DE, CB, and WR, it’s hard for me to see. DE Hutchinson Thibodeaux Karlaftis Johnson II Ojabo Trevon Walker CB McDuffie Gardner Stingley Elam WR Williams Burks Dotson London Throw in Neal, Ekwonu, and Cross at T, a few guards, Linderbaum, Lloyd and Dean, and we’re over 20 picks already. Without getting to QB or DT or S. I think you’d get heavy odds and big payout on Clark being a first-round pick in actuality. |

Interesting 4 rounder. I traded down to 33 because I felt like I could still get Cam Thomas there, Johnson was off the board. As the picks fell, it was good value to double up on what are probably our biggest areas of weakness. I decided to try to make them strengths moving forward. I wouldn't hate this strategy come the draft, honestly.
KC 33. Cameron Thomas EDGE San Diego State-prototype edge rusher, productive and athletic. trade icon KC 62. Sam Williams EDGE Mississippi-all the tools are there; some red flags off the field but could be a steal here. KC 70. John Metchie III WR Alabama-may not help much in '22, but #1 potential moving forward. trade icon KC 94. Alec Pierce WR Cincinnati-big, fast, physical 'X' receiver KC 134. Tyler Goodson RB Iowa-just a good, solid running back all around. |
