Aaron Rodgers may have found his way out of playing for the Packers in 2021

The NFL and NFLPA will allow players to opt-out of the season, no questions asked, by July 2

Aaron Rodgers may have found his way out of the Green Bay Packers – at least for this season.

NFL players will be able to opt-out of playing this season over concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. The NFL and the NFL Players Association agreed that only high-risk players will be able to receive a $350,000 stipend.

According to Pro Football Talk, players can opt-out regardless of whether they had been diagnosed with a high-risk condition or if they opted out last season. Rodgers, in theory, could opt out no questions asks and won’t have to play for the Packers.

He would have by July 2 to decide.

Furthermore, Pro Football Talk noted that Rodgers wouldn’t have to forfeit $11.5 million in signing bonus money and would still get his roster bonus. He would continue to be fined if he doesn’t show up for Packers camp.

Green Bay has been adamant about not trading Rodgers.

No words. He just might do this. To be prickish.

But if he does that he can’t play for anybody. Another empty threat is all this would really be.

Front office responds by making the team worse and not spending money each time.

They're a group of arrogant con artists, and the funniest part is the moronic fan base in this city & state turned on Rodgers even faster than they turned on Favre. They truly believe their front office is just that much smarter than everyone.

That's right morons, just keep gulping down your 14 dollar Miller Lites and buying your jerseys. We'll keep buying up property around Lambeau for pennies on the dollar, cutting massive deals with real estate developers and building condos. Basically, spending our resources on everything but the on field football product.

Laughably hilarious.

Other than getting part of his money paid. His contract carries over the next year if the rules are the same. Green bay can still franchise him what 3 years?

Him opting out helps green bay. They get to see if Love is starter. More cap space, if they suck better picks. If he is good they can still franchise and ransom Rodgers for a max haul.

I would expect Rodgers to hold out for a few weeks and then return to really **** up the love experiment

Maybe the Packers fans are tired of the guy who did not run the ball on 3rd down in the NFC championship game. And then points the finger at everybody else for their decisions.

Rodgers is in the wrong and he is being a smug asshole. You should not kiss his ass just because the sports talk shows on ESPN and FS1 and NFL Network are scared to death of criticizing the guy.

Rodgers and Russell Wilson are just mad that their contracts became obsolete real quick because of the 2018 and 2019 QB draft classes and Cowboys franchising Dak Prescott.

Rodgers has carried that organization for 10 years.

Anyone who doesn't see that will find out pretty quickly if Jordan Love is the Packers starting QB this year. This team is nothing without Rodgers.

He's an incredible talent, but he is an asshole and drama queen. He has been treated as well or better than any other great QB.

The Chiefs could tell Alex Smith they liked a QB in the draft and might trade up because they can trust Alex Smith not to leak the story so that other teams find out about it.

I bet the Packers will do fine without Rodgers, he may play one more year with them, but I bet the Packers record in the first decade without Rodgers will be better than the franchise he ends up playing with.

He has not been treated as well as he should have been considering he literally carries the organization on his back. These front office clowns owe all their money and standing in the state to him.

He is a prick and a drama queen, you are right about that for sure. That's why it was inevitable this situation would eventually blow up. A shitty front office plus a diva superstar QB does not usually end well.

The Pack went from best organization under Lombardi, to 20 years of not much to 30 years of being a contender with 10 of those years being Super Bowl contenders.

If Rodgers was not pissed that his super contract that he loved became obsolete because of 7 other QBs getting better deals, nobody would be criticizing the Green Bay front office.

That's to be debated. The Green Bay Packers have had a hall of fame QB under center for like 25 years straight and have won two Super Bowls in that time.

I would argue that's a lot of wasted seasons, considering how hard it is to find one Hall of Fame QB, let alone two in a row. They let coaches like Mike Sherman and Mike McCarthy waste these guys best years. It could have been much better.

He also failed them in 4 straight champ games. Defense gave him 3 picks in the second half and he shit himself and failed to take over the game. Hes a pussy.

He’s definitely a pussy and doesn’t have the passion for football he once did. That said he still carries them to 10+ wins every year and makes the team look much better than they are.

RunKC 06-26-2021 10:02 AM

I kinda hope he does opt out bc it would be poetic justice to those dumbasses in the GB front office.

I’d laugh my ass off
