Owings is the worst player I've ever seen

For what? Winning? What are you basing that on?

It might be more like 2021-23 at this point but who knows. They'll certainly have more money to spend as a lot of the huge contracts will be gone after next year.

The theory being that some of these highly thought of prospects in A ball would be coming up by 2021. Only problem is the hitters have all been catastrophically awful except for Isbel. You might see 2-3 of the big 4 pitchers by then though. Add in a guy like Khalil Lee maybe... then you already have Mondesi, Whit, Dozier. It's something. Who knows what happens with Salvy or Soler by that point. They will have more money to spend so maybe they can extend some guys. They basically haven't tied themselves down to anyone after 2021 besides Whit, and he's only going to make about $2 million that year because they front loaded his deal.

Chris Davis is laughing his ass off making fun of Owings.

2 more years development from Mondesi, Lopez, Dozier, etc...in addition to the draft picks they will be adding. It’s just my feeling.

I hope Dozier can be a late bloomer like Whit, but odds are probably against it.

I just think it's pretty tough to legitimately expect a winning "window" when it is based on guys in A ball and other guys who aren't even in the organization. They're all a long ways away from even making the bigs, let alone being stars who can lead the team to WS contention.

How do you figure that? We're almost 60 games into the season and Dozier is literally one of the best hitters in the American League. The only guys with a better OPS than him are Trout, Springer and Gallo. That is really impressive. I don't know if he'll maintain that level but if he even plays at 75% of that he's a legit major league starter.

Of course I'm impressed with him this year. But like you said, it's been 60 games. Can he do it (or 75%) for a few seasons? Huge unknown.

One bright spot as well is our team looks like they don't drink Budwieser and eat chips all day. Most the guys actually look like athletes.

So at some point do the Royals admit that Ryan O'Hearn is not a MLB player...

He may not be but he’s probably earned(based on last year)a bit more than 2 months of struggles before they pull the plug. Also, he did have 2 hits last night which is worlds better than a certain player who went 0-4 with 4 K’s who definitely needs to be given up on.

I think as long as his exit velocity remains strong, they will continue giving him some leash, I think.

His exit velocity and hard hit rate suggest quite a bit of bad luck. If his approach stays sound and he continues to hit the ball hard, I say keep giving him ABs.
