‘Twas a wonderful and sorely needed win. We’ve been eating crap for awhile now.

Cook is a limited player but is nowhere near the largest liability. The biggest problem with the offense is the OLine and Drink/Moore. The backs aren’t very good either. Peat needs to play more.

Hopefully they build on it. Memphis is capable of beating them they put a lot into that game and will need to bounce back. Line opened at 6.5.

You all can act appalled that people would do such a thing, but there’s obviously a reason for it. Cook played his ass off yesterday in that game and I didn’t hear a single person booing him during the game, but anyone acting like the crowd shouldn’t have been pissed off going into the game about how this QB situation has been handled over the last year is being completely obtuse.

I’m definitely not the one thinking any of those recruits thought about anything I said, so I’m not sure who you’re talking to when you’re trying to remind me of that, but I’ll make sure to pass it along to the butt hurt wannabe boosters worried about some pregame boo birds derailing whatever progress they think we’re making.

Somehow ended up right in front of all the recruits for this one. I definitely booed Brady Cook with everyone else. Don’t feel bad about it in the slightest. I also pointed out that Drink was coaching the last possession like a 3 year old playing Madden and I saw a lot of the recruits laugh and agree. We won that game, but better management would have put us in a better shot to not just pray for a miracle kick. Great game, though. Was a perfect day for football!

You could see how one might think the exact opposite given precisely what you wrote, no?

If Drink shows the progress Cook has demonstrated, then this team will challenge Tenn for 2nd in the east!

I, too, am worried about a letdown. That’s my defeatist Mizzou fan in me. Will say a little something about Drink if they come out flat…and for some reason it seems like we start almost every game flat.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-17-2023 06:39 PM

It will be interesting to see how this win ages. If K-State wins nine or ten games, it's his best win by a good margin. If K-State goes 7-5, it looks a lot more like the LSU win which appeared transformative, but ended up as just okay.

Yeah Tenn didn't look all that impressive yesterday

BryanBusby 09-17-2023 06:48 PM

They do always suck in the swamp but they just really don't appear to be a dynamic team anymore.

Milton just can't execute that Offense as well.

I think slots 2 through 6 in the East are wide open this year.

Titty Meat 09-17-2023 06:54 PM

What's wild is they are likely to be 5-0 ranked going into the LSU game and the reeruns in here are STILL bitching LMAO

Yeah they have a pretty crappy record there...but they looked completely off kilter yesterday.

Florida isn't as good either especially Graham Mertz at QB.

Actually most of the SEC East looked average yesterday, even Georgia.

People on here wanna act like "Because, Chiefs" is such a curse, but it's not even close to "Because, Mizzou". Mizzou sports has let me down my entire life. Ive see Chiefs Super Bowl wins and a loss, Royals World Series win and loss, Blues Stanley Cup title. I can't even get a god damn Final Four or a National Title game from Mizzou. They've been within 1 game of each of those things.

I don't think this Kst team is as good as last year, but they avoid Oklahoma....their schedule is very manageable.

They have 7 or 8 more games they should win the Big 12 outside of Texas, OU and MAYBE KU isn't very good

BryanBusby 09-17-2023 10:50 PM

KState is at least a top 3 B12 team this year. It's a respectable win.

warpaint* 09-18-2023 04:12 AM

Agree with you both.

duncan_idaho 09-18-2023 07:47 AM

Recent updates on Ryan Wingo seem to have him headed in the wrong direction.

Texas is tough to beat at any time for someone it really puts the press on, and I think Arch Manning is a factor there as well.

Would be exciting to have Wingo and Burden on the field together next year, but it's not looking good at the moment.

WhawhaWhat 09-18-2023 11:45 AM

Missouri up to #27 in the rankings behind Clemson and Florida. They might break into the top 25 with Memphis and Vandy coming up on the schedule before LSU comes to Columbia in October.

I think the chances of him playing are pretty good, but if he doesn't, then I wonder how he was able to finish the K-State game? Kinda dumb to trout a guy out there thats not even able to play the next week. Could he have injured it worse by playing? Did they figure just get him through this harder game and if they have to Horn should be good to go against a weaker opponent in Memphis?

Hopefully they run Horn out there to show what he's got, but I don't think they'll sit Cook, even if they should.

That’s what you have to ask yourself . . . . .

Well now, that's an ugly TO.

JohnnyHammersticks 09-23-2023 06:22 PM

Mizzou is going to have to step it up or this might not even be close. Memphis is no joke.

Mosbonian 09-23-2023 06:28 PM

Fumble on your own 5?

Pepe Silvia 09-23-2023 06:32 PM

Mizzou makes too many mistakes. Undisciplined.

ThyKingdomCome15 09-23-2023 06:33 PM

Alright, time to Cook.

kepp 09-23-2023 06:33 PM

Norwood playing a nice game

Pepe Silvia 09-23-2023 06:41 PM

Are these SEC refs? Whoever it is is flagging Mizzou on every single play almost.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-23-2023 06:42 PM

The videographer that Brian Kelly killed at Notre Dame would do a better job filming this broadcast.

JohnnyHammersticks 09-23-2023 06:49 PM

That should be intentional grounding. Or a fumble.

JohnnyHammersticks 09-23-2023 06:59 PM

Words I never thought I'd type; Brady Cook is freaking dealing. Best I've ever seen him look by far.

kepp 09-23-2023 06:59 PM

5 rushing yards. I hope we can recruit some RBs.

Pepe Silvia 09-23-2023 07:04 PM

Burned a little too much time there.

Nope - ran it perfectly.

But when the speed option got sniffed out they didn't seem to have much of a plan for 3rd down.

I'm not sure how much success they'll have inside the red zone passing the ball. They may have to get pretty creative there.

JohnnyHammersticks 09-23-2023 07:15 PM

Cook took a big hit on that last drive. Hope he's not hurt. What a 1st half though!

Aside from the near hospital pass to Burden on the last drive, that was about a perfect half from Cook. He looked like he was in a lot of pain after that run, though.

kepp 09-23-2023 07:44 PM

That better be a cramp

Sassy Squatch 09-23-2023 07:46 PM

What in the **** could they possibly be reviewing?

Dartgod 09-23-2023 07:56 PM

srvy 09-23-2023 07:57 PM

Piss poor short yardage play. Just run it and move the chains.

ThyKingdomCome15 09-23-2023 07:58 PM

Well, that just happened. Not running there seems pretty stupid but defense is playing pretty well.

kepp 09-23-2023 07:59 PM

Oooffff...we Andy Reid'd that 4th&1

srvy 09-23-2023 08:02 PM

I don't get the review call. He had the ball and first down at the knees down. So there was no fumble why move it back when it rolled out of bounds?

ThyKingdomCome15 09-23-2023 08:03 PM

Memphis has 7 points off turnovers and 7 off a turnover on downs.

I assumed they decided the knee was down before he crossed the sticks?

But with this dipshit broadcast crew, you damn sure weren't going to get an explanation

DJ's left nut 09-23-2023 08:06 PM

God I hate these running backs.

Memphis has a better RB situation than we do. And I know nothing about their RBs.

Pepe Silvia 09-23-2023 08:12 PM

Not converting that 4th down was killer.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-23-2023 08:15 PM
