Bell just wanted to be taken care of. He played a season on the franchise tag, despite the lack of long-term security, and the Steelers rewarded him by tagging him again.

What he did was completely understandable. He's nothing like Antonio Brown.

Brown lost his shit repeatedly over stupid things, if Bell had been given the contract Brown was he'd have never said peep.

Bell never sexually assaulted anybody that I know of.

It's weird how Bell and Brown get lumped together as the same people, they aren't even close. One dude got paid and still went nuts, the other just simply wanted his money.

This. Specifically, Bell basically told his teammates that he WOULD be there, and then he was a no-show, because he didn't want to spend another year on his 2nd franchise tag. That's what started all the "he's a cancer," stuff. But none of his actual PIT teammates ever called him a cancer. They were literally just unhappy because they expected him to be there, and then he wasn't.

I'm not worried about leveon here. But I won't make excuses either. He bailed on his teammates in Pittsburgh. It's one thing to hold out. But he flat out shut out his teammates during the process then completely hung them to dry. When it happened a second time it justifiably sends red flags whether he has reasons or excuses.

I'm excited for him to be here. But he needs to do a lot to earn trust. And we have to have a short leash at any hint of misbehaving.

Football is a business with the front office. Not with teammates. He flat out ghosted the entire locker room. He literally told his teammates he'd be there week 1. Then went dead ass silent. The team planned around him being there. Didn't even have the courtesy to tell a single teammate. Not even his own players rep. It was very selfish. Holdouts will tell someone what's going on. Teammates know it's a business. It's why they rarely speak bad about a player holding out. Not a good sign when the entire locker room trashes you.

By the way he also skipped the Jets first voluntary workout even though his team made it clear they preferred he be there.

So yeah, plenty of excuses for why he made the business decisions he made. But his history as a teammate is justifiably sketchy.
