I’m sure they will. It helps the OL as they get to use strictly double teams off the snap. It plays to a runner of Bell’s style. They could add that in more, no problem.

You can bet your ass we are going back 21 personnel like when we had Hunt.

Big Red loves that shit.

Geoff would say that the simplest fix for the O line problems would be a QB that didn't drift too far in the pocket.

I'm of the opinion that, I don't care about the amount of the contract; it ain't my money.

With the exception being that maybe it leaves enough in the kitty to make an emergency pickup later this season.

Same here, the cap is what I care about. Want them to have flexibility to make other moves as the year goes on, including any possible trades.

Well spotrac says we still have 5.9 mil in space. Which matches pretty well with overthecap estimates off 6.5 in space but without bell on it yet.

Which should be plenty. When Bell was being courted by 3+ teams I got the impression it would cost us a lot more than it did. This deal is an absolute no brainer. And now that he's here, I'm just going to assume he'll return to 2016 form under Reid and we'll have 2 do-it-all superbacks carrying us to victory.

Kiimo 10-17-2020 05:34 PM

$690k. We need to stop saying "a million" because that isn't prorated.

We got an all pro RB to back up CEH for 690k who against stacked boxes on a crap team for a crap coach still managed 1200 yards last season.

I would LOVE to see teams stack the box against Mahomes lol. Veach is a GOD

I think you're right, and I hope you're right for Mahomes sake. After last week, he could use a game where the running game is clicking and he doesn't have to run for his life on 55 pass attempts. As much as I love our high falutin, grandiose, greatest show on turf air assault, I'd love to see us play some smash mouth ball and pound the rock to victory.

htismaqe 10-17-2020 05:47 PM

I wouldn't expect them to pound the ball even with Bell. That's not Andy's style.

Where Bell is going to be handy in the passing game.

I'm still dreaming about the two back set possibilities

Imagine this one with both of them back there on either side busting up those deep zones

tyecopeland 10-18-2020 08:06 AM

Spotrac has his salary at 679,000 and lists the incentives as "playing time, playoffs."

Overthecap shows 705,000. And doesn't list anything for incentives yet.

Yep. His pass blocking will be as important as his pass catching, although I am looking forward to seeing him on the field at the same time as CEH.

BigRedChief 10-18-2020 12:17 PM

Since this hasn’t got to 1000 replies, does that mean he’s not going to have a good year with us? Trying to understand the jinx/karma on here.

Granted, same was said about Antonio brown. But I agree. I dont really trust him long term. But it's fine as a rental.

Him coming here knowing the circumstances should be a good sign that he won't be selfish. If he wanted the big job he'd go to Miami. If he wanted a playoff team with a rb need he'd go to Buffalo. He came here for a super bowl and we signed him as a one year rental while he gets his career back on track. Win win.

Seeing his Twitter he looks pumped up. Including giving some love to CEH. So I'm feeling really good about this.

Antonio Brown is certifiably insane.

Bell just wanted to be taken care of. He played a season on the franchise tag, despite the lack of long-term security, and the Steelers rewarded him by tagging him again.

What he did was completely understandable. He's nothing like Antonio Brown.

Tell your UPS driver to stick to schlepping boxes.

The dude wanted to get paid. Can’t blame any RB for wanting to capitalize on a short career window. It worked out perfectly for him too, especially if he’s able to get a ring with the Chiefs

This. Specifically, Bell basically told his teammates that he WOULD be there, and then he was a no-show, because he didn't want to spend another year on his 2nd franchise tag. That's what started all the "he's a cancer," stuff. But none of his actual PIT teammates ever called him a cancer. They were literally just unhappy because they expected him to be there, and then he wasn't.

I'm not worried about leveon here. But I won't make excuses either. He bailed on his teammates in Pittsburgh. It's one thing to hold out. But he flat out shut out his teammates during the process then completely hung them to dry. When it happened a second time it justifiably sends red flags whether he has reasons or excuses.

I'm excited for him to be here. But he needs to do a lot to earn trust. And we have to have a short leash at any hint of misbehaving.

Didn't say there's anything wrong with being pissed off. We've seen a billion contract disputes like this. The problem was the way he treated his teammates. They said he didn't talk to any of them. Wouldn't respond to anyone's texts or communications. We've never seen a locker room turn on a holdout like this. Take it out on your front office. Not your teammates. Maybe it was just immaturity. I'm not saying hes guaranteed locker room poison. But I'm not going to make excuses where mistakes were made. He did not handle that well.

He was holding out. He wasn't on the team. It makes sense he wouldn't talk to anybody. I guess I don't see the problem - football is a business.

BREAKING: Le'Veon Bell to the Chiefs

Bell saying he has never played with anyone as talented as Patrick Mahomes.

That some shade at Rapelisberger.

Football is a business with the front office. Not with teammates. He flat out ghosted the entire locker room. He literally told his teammates he'd be there week 1. Then went dead ass silent. The team planned around him being there. Didn't even have the courtesy to tell a single teammate. Not even his own players rep. It was very selfish. Holdouts will tell someone what's going on. Teammates know it's a business. It's why they rarely speak bad about a player holding out. Not a good sign when the entire locker room trashes you.

By the way he also skipped the Jets first voluntary workout even though his team made it clear they preferred he be there.

So yeah, plenty of excuses for why he made the business decisions he made. But his history as a teammate is justifiably sketchy.

I don't think those two factors justify calling his teammate history as sketchy.

Other than that is not what he said. He said he never played with an MVP before.

LMAO

Bell didn't contact anyone on the advice of agent, who was trying to get a long term deal worked out for him after being tagged the year before.

Good ****ing grief.

I'm beginning to think that several people here don't even know who Le'Veon Bell is.

What exactly are you talking about? What did he do twice? Who did he completely hang out to dry?

He put the team and his team mates ahead of himself and balled out on the Franchise Tag after playing 4 years on his rookie contract at approx 1 million per year. Then refuses to sign a second one year contract.

I'm at a loss for words, I guess. It has to be that people are subconsciously associating Bell with AB, there is literally no other explanation except maybe a learning disability.

No holdout has ghosted their team the way he did. No locker room has turned on a holdout the way the steelers did. The damn steelers players rep of all people was blasting him. I'm as excited as anyone he's in kc but good lord, let's not sugarcoat the past. He was put in a bad spot and he handled it poorly.

Hahaha, yeah I also remember a play where Bell ran through about 7 Chiefs for a big gain, and I'm not sure any of them actually got a hand on him while he did it. Then he did it again.

Its pretty obvious at the this point in time if dude ****ed your mom, your wife, your sister, and your daughter, you wouldn't have an issue with it. LMAO

He will 99.9% likely be fine in KC this year but you act like dude doesn't have a reputation. Perception is reality in most people's minds. Its just like Detox said, his UPS guy has that perception. Damn near every Chiefs and NFL fan I know who text me after he signed in KC has that perception. It exist for a reason.

And the truth is it doesn't matter in the end.Its just opinions.

mlyonsd 10-21-2020 05:59 PM

This is such a no-brainer I don't get not liking it.

You mean the perception that if a player is anything but a good little soldier that exactly what he's told he's a problem?

God forbid dude put looking out for himself above the team when they tried to **** him.
