not too hard.

one thing is to consider if it'll run a little lean as a result. usually, however, they come a little rich from the factory so no need for a fuel commander / etc.

Did it really change the sound enough to justify it?

I stole a sweet laptop last night....

How do you plan to do this?
You realize this will make it obnoxiously loud?

I plan on cutting them out. I've read a "how too" online. Do you know from experience that it will make it obnoxiously loud or are you just assuming that?

Experience on 4 bangers not v-twins. I’m like Dayze, my riding/wrenching has mostly been with sport bikes.

eh..it was ok. Not as good as when I replaced the actual can (stock) with aftermarket. Not sure on a cruiser

I know on Ducati's removing baffles from some after market cans sounds kick ass. Like,....super kick ass.

I'd love to have a road king...but can't afford it.
I started with a 1983 yamaha virago 500.

http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gal...0%20Virago.jpg

after a few years I moved on to a 1985 magna 700.

I'm currently riding 02 shadow sabre.
don't have any pics...but this is it almost exactly.
I have cobra shotgun pipes on it with a mustang seat as pictured and same saddle bags pictured. also added a windshield and highway pegs

https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...hW1S21yrg1J5E-

these look like my pipes...but the saddle bags and seat aren't the same.
but this is my bike basically sans cushy mustang seat and highway pegs.

this one has my pipes but no bags.

it's a good bike. plenty of power for two. never had to do a thing to it other than tires and oil. got 25k on it so far.

frankotank 07-09-2013 12:51 PM

so...question for you baggers with a cushy ride...like a road king or similar...

I can ride about an hour...maybe hour and a half....and I'm ready to get OFF that dang thing. I wonder......would a road king make much difference? would it be so much more comfortable that I wouldn't be wanting off after an hour or so.....or......am I just a wimp?

I HUGE part is the seat. Beyond that, (From a comfort standpoint), you're looking at peg/foot distance; same with the bars.
If you're hands get numb, you can get some gloves with Gel padding in them.

but, 99% of it is the seat. I had the same deal on my Vstar; stock seat kicked my ass. switch to an aftermarket (can't recall the brand...maybe Corbin) and I could easily burn an entire tank of gas in a ride.

I don't think your a wimp.
I rode 350 Miles on July 3rd down to Missouri to get fireworks on my Triumph Tiger 800 XC. By the time I got back to Iowa I felt like I had been running a Weed Eater all day.

On a side Note:
Man I want a Norton Commando. Been looking.

I used to get CTS in my throttle hand bad. Installing a “cruise control” throttle clip eliminated it as an issue, just being able to occasionally take my right hand off the bar and move it around was enough.

I gotta get that done. I need different gloves as well.

I had a throttle lock on my magna. it was nice to be able to chill that right hand.
you know....my sabre doesn't really vibrate my hands much. and the mustang seat really is comfy. it's nice to be able to put my feet up on the highway pegs for a change of position....... but man...you crazy bastards riding all the way to sturgis and shit....that's just NUTS.
