OBJ Jr. talked about how the training staff treats every game “like a playoff game” and said they were “old school” in their approach in working with players to get them “game ready.” Interestingly, this was meant to be a negative, as he said the Bengals were hands off and believed in letting the players rest until they were ready.

Mecole talked about this in a similar way, but said he appreciated the Chiefs approach after being with the Jets. He talked about how the training staff was way more “relaxed” with the players and as such, practices were often disorganized and players were missing in action during drills.

Sounds like Andy and Rick run an old school ship. I could see how it could lead to really divisive reactions from players used to a different approach on a new team or from college - but looking at how our players health has held up with 6 straight playoff runs, it’s hard to argue with the results.

Meet with your player leaders/captains, get their feedback on what they want in terms of improvements and then determine what can be done incrementally/in the short term and what will need to wait for if/when they build a new practice facility.

But just doing nothing seems to be an unforced error by Clark.
