They aren't going to keep one of those guys even if they stay in a 34. I feel like you're having a hard time with that.

Ford is a pass rush specialist that had a career year in a contract year. He's a great pass rusher that's not very good at anything else.

I'd imagine they're going to let him walk at this point.

I’m sorry I’m not being negative enough for you. I wanted Sutton gone and now he is, you’re acting like a little bitch throwing a tantrum because you didn’t get the guy YOU wanted. Cry me a ****ing river. I’m not buying into what a ****ing says, you can but I’m not.

What did Pioli and Haley do when they left KC? and what did we say about them? I’m sure we said a bunch of negative shit too. Stop acting like a spoiled ****ing brat. He’s an upgrade over Sutton no matter what a ****ing fan has to say .

Complete moronic.

This team shouldn't be paying Dee Ford 17 million a year or considering where they go with Justin Houstons massive cap number considering he is a declining player.

Decisions to make them happy is how we end up worse than we are now.

A 4-3 probably makes Jones better because then his desire to not play the run isn't as hurtful as it is when in a 3-4 he does that 2 lineman go get the LB's immediately.

Let Ford walk and get a comp pick in 2020.

Let Kpass/Speaks/rookie battle it out for that other DE spot.

Yes, in any given game, 'bend but don't break' can hold teams to field goals, keep the points down and win you a ballgame. But over the course of the season you're going to eventually run into that critical game where the red zone stops or 3rd down stops just don't come and you bend...then break.

Meanwhile if you're a team that excels at not giving up yards, statistically you're far more likely to be able to repeat that on a game to game basis.

That's why that 2016 season of his strikes me as a little bit of fools gold. His PPG was excellent but his YPG was merely above average. I believe the YPG was probably more demonstrative of the job he was doing and a lot of those cracks that were papered over in '16 surfaced in a big way in '17.

Ideally in a 43, you can get as much pass rush production from Kpass and Speaks as you could from Ford.

I didn't agree with it when it was Houstons deal coming up, but as of now count me in on the "give me a multitude of good pass rushers over the singular great one".

I don't think Houston will be a big secret. They aren't going to pay him 21 million.

You really want them to pay Ford?

Also 4-3 should make Speaks and Kpass guys who can actually contribute.

Kpass is the type of guy Spags will like because with his size he can play all over the line. Matter of fat Jones and Speaks could do that to and he's shown he likes moving the DL around.
