We're focusing on stopping the run and creating pressure by sending our LBs and Honey Badger

It's a completely different scheme.

Seems like we are going to build a defense to stop a 90's offense...

One good healthy season. Could he do it again? Sure. But the Chiefs, in their new scheme, decided the risk outweighed the reward.

They’re building this thing how they want with depth. Get over it.
He’s had 2 good seasons in the last 3 years. Was hurt for the remaining. People gotta stop selling that narrative of “one good year”

So far everything we’ve talked about before you’ve been proven wrong in time. Landon Collins is still not getting close to 15 mil a year right? This will be much of the same after Ford balls out for the Niners and this guy struggles to stay on the field.

You’re really gonna use a season in which Ford missed 6 games and wasn’t there for them in the playoffs as a good year? That only supports the argument to move on.

This defense is not purely reliant on winning one on ones like Sutton’s. They’re going to bring pressure in all sorts of different ways. And maybe stop the ****ing run, another factor that cost them in the AFCCG.

He wasn’t even the most productive. That was Chris Jones

If we were gonna keep any of those guys it’d be a more steady player like Houston. But 9.5 sacks doesn’t deserve Aaron Donald money

If Okafor struggles to stay on the field, that’ll be a good thing. It means we either added more talent, or Speaks took a huge step forward, or both.

There’s more to defense than sacks. We were one of the best teams at getting pressure last year and were nearly last in defense. Every game we lost was because of defense. Young talented DE with upside and was a starter for the #1 rushing defense. Good signing, and good riddance to Ford who’s career year is behind him. He will be hurt until his next contract year again.

Best thing for some folks would be to check out some NE highlights and YouTube video of the patriot front 7 and their looks. Think of that as sort of a baseline then they will get aggressive with pressures. Gonna be different from watching 10 years of two different 3/4 schemes to this. Almost a bit of dyslexia with free agency the draft and all this shit you just got to look at it differently now

Uncertainty with his role in a changing scheme.

28 years old with a surgically repaired back.

Couple of reasons why it wouldn't have been the best idea to give Dee Ford that contract.

Exactly...

... the offense getting shutout in the first half, and allowing 4 sacks and 1,000 hurries had ZERO to do with it...

... Or Hill being shutdown by JONATHAN JONES...

... nah it was JUST THAT ONE PLAY...

No I’m gonna use the 2016 season where he started in 15 games and had 10 sacks and was top 10 in the league in pressures as a good season.

Obviously the defense is going to improve with Spags scheme, Ford would have also improved against the run became an all pro player in it. It’s cool tho instead we’ll have Alex Okafors run defense while Brady throws slants to Edelman, while Ronald Darby watches in a track suit from the sidelines.

Hill was bracketed by the McCourty brothers.
