What do you collect?

I collect:

1. world globes (small collection, because I'm trying to limit myself to one per decade for space purposes)
2. t-shirts from foreign countries, but only if I go to the country
3. refrigerator magnets from any place I travel

I'm starting a fledgling pen collection, too, but only have a few. Pens are cool. I keep threatening to start a salt and pepper shaker collection because they're cheap and there are a lot of fun and creative ones out there, but my wife is wary that they'll take up too much room.

You can't beat the satisfaction of finding a good refrigerator magnet.

No, you really can't. My favorites are the hard, metal ones. I've got a great one like that from the Smithsonian in DC. I also like the skyline views of big cities.

Do you use them? Or do you put them all together, unused? I've got my collection like that on the side of my fridge.

Bob Dole collects exes, which pretty much precludes collecting anything else.

I arrange mine like they would look on a map. It's probably not real creative, but I like it.

I used to have a ton of them from business trips before I started my company, but for social reasons too complex to explain here, I had to leave them behind on the office refrigerator when I quit my previous job. When that old company collapsed, though, a former coworker of mine rescued a couple of the more unusual ones and gave them to me.

Never would have thought of you a an Anime fan. I used to be one...until it got too expensive.

I was really in to Dragonball Z (the non cartoon network version), Project A-Ko, Ranma 1/2, and Tenchi Muyo!...

Nice. I wasn't huge in to it, but like I said...loved DB, DBZ, and DBGT. It got expensive..and I lost interest, especially after Cartoon Network started to slaughter all of it.

True Grit (1969) - Perhaps Wayne's second-greatest acting mistake, this was a light comedy where Wayne portrayed a bumbling stay-at-home husband who battled a particularly difficult bathtub ring.

The Shootist (1937) - Wayne's greatest acting mistake, this gay porn classic took place when he was a starving actor at the beginning of his career.

How timely!! I collect sports memorabilia (big surprise)...mostly Pre '85 FB cards and 50s' 60s' and 70s' baseball cards. Some jerseys, helmets, etc. DVDs/VHSs in general and Horror and Sci-Fi movies in particular...

...and, finally, comic books! Tonight I added...nerd drum roll, please, a VG copy of The Amazing Spiderman #1!! The very first issue of the series (2nd appearance of Spiderman, first Fantastic Four x-over)...it will join the other three of Marvel's Big Four First Issues I prize (Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-men)!!

Sweet, my wife even bought a nice bottle of the bubbly to help me celebrate!! Coolio!

Embrace your nerdome!
