Heres what Veach is hoping for:

Breeland gets back to the guy that earned a big FA deal with Carolina and only allowed a passer rating of 59 down the stretch for GB last year. He does that, he’s our Sean Smith.

Kendall Fuller follows in his brothers footsteps and has a breakout year in his fourth season in the NFL.

Chavarious Ward improves on his solid play from last year.

Morris Claiborne has a career year reuniting with Honey Badger and gives us solid play.

The safety play helps the corners immensely.

The run defense is improved enough to put opposing passing offenses in 3rd and long and the corners can cover for long enough for the pass rush to effect passes.

If those things happen, we will be just fine.

Well I mean it's like, look at the moves he has made so far. When I look at them I sure don't think, "wow this guy is really stingy."

The moves show he clearly does not mind overpaying to get what he wants. Now, what do you suspect the reason is?

Maybe i'm in the minority, but when you need that many "ifs" to happen in the NFL on a certain unit, it's probably not likely

Yeah, he's usually one to overpay and be aggressive so i'm guessing it's just outrageously expensive to get one.

I'm not even really sure who would be available at CB anyway. Most teams are lucky to even have 2 they like.

There will be options, but outside of the Miami Dolphins...nobody is throwing in the towel Week One. Gotta have some patience.

The only one that really lines up with the Chiefs in terms of finances too, is Peterson.

I'd rather trade for a young one, but we can't trade for one and give them a new contract.

Is there a CB available that he can trade a 1st and a 2nd for who's maybe 10% better than someone he could've had for a 3rd and some roster fodder?

Patrick Peterson is by far the best option for the Chiefs.

He's perfect for this team with his two years left on his contract and maybe two last years of elite play. I'm not sure I trust that Cardinals' GM to be reasonable though.

I think they're counting on scheme helping them out as much as anything. Not making guys go man as much should help them from getting burned as bad.

At least I'm hoping anyway.

I'm sure we'll be tired of getting beat in the soft spots of a zone, but hopefully it will be better than getting crushed.

Who we talking about for the 3rd and roster fodder?

Edit: nevermind. You think they'd have traded him to us?
