Sending people a check right isn’t going to achieve near enough ROI. Save that for when this is over and capitalize on pent up demand to drive an economic upswing.

For immediate needs: Boost unemployment insurance. Freeze evictions and foreclosures. Get people on welfare expanded benefits. Help keep small businesses afloat where possible. Keep the airlines going. Open up public works projects on infrastructure for those who lose their jobs. Pump resources to hospitals and clinics.

There is no authority for the federal govt to freeze evictions at local levels. I have to still pay my mortgage on my apt building. I have other ways I can work with tenants to help them who are hurting, as I have posted. I don't need the federal govt micromanaging and ordering me on what to do.

I can see boosting unemployment insurance though.

At what point will you seek to evict your tenants if they miss rent on the 1st?

The Republican mindset is based on supporting corporations, who give back to the party in the form of donations.

It’s surely NOT about responsible financial policies.

Folks complain about the cost social programs, when it’s the Republicans who assure corporations don’t have to be decent stewards of society, either financially or thru offering healthcare, or even care of the ecology. Just cut taxes, and throw billions into the defense budget that get wasted, but pad corporations bottom line.

Republicans must feed the corporate trough in order to exist. The party is shrinking and their focus is taking care of corporations with weak to no guarantees to pay it forward to average working Joe, or fixed income families.

Republicans see this, and future bills as nothing more than a potential corporate giveaway with paybacks expected.

I already posted what I would do since they work in hospitality or restaurants except one who is an emt. Just not in this thread. The emt will have more than enough work--if he doesn't get sick.

If these people were responsible with a dollar to start with, heating their homes and paying bills wouldn't be an issue less than 30 days into a panic (which this is)

The only people in a crisis now are the people who are not responsible with money. Giving them more seems folly to me.

Now 90 or so days from now, my opinion might change.
Just because you want to ignore the fact million of americans live pay check to paycheck doesnt make it any less true.

And america is becoming tired of hearing all this "bootstrap" talk as we give trillions away to executives and corporations who only use it to enrich themselves then come begging for more less than 30 days into a crisis.

We need to be helping americans.

That's great. It's still nothing compared to how destructive the Democrats are. Thank goodness we finally shut down the southern border.

All you achieve by “increasing unemployment” is giving JOB CREATORS an incentive to dump workers onto unemployment.
