*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

It's a legit throw, but IMO, the catch is just as impressive. He put it in a spot where only Kelce is catching it and he just nonchalantly snatches it.

holy shit - he's still going? Occasionally someone I follow will re-tweet him to troll his idiocy last summer but I'll be damned if I give that ****ing clown another follower.

He's really trying to back his play there? That has to just be a product of him being in the Denver market now, right?

I'm proud to say I hated that cockholster when he was in the KC area so this was an easy transition. The guy was just a blatant troll and shit disturber. But to hear him say it he just "keeps it real". Tool.

I mean **** me, I can't wrap my brain around how good this dude is. He makes 2 or 3 plays a game where you just laugh at how good they are.

He's had more spectacular days than he had yesterday but I think yesterday was his best game of the season. He was in absolute control of everything. He made throwing for nearly 400 yards and 3 scores against a team that had the #1 QB Rating against in the NFL coming into that game look easy. He never looked strained, never looked rattled. On the road with a patchwork interior line and the dude could've been playing flag football with his buddies for all we knew.

Truly an insane game.
Hah. I see him now. Didn't bother looking.

I actually think he'd have gone to Hill, which actually wouldn't have been a horrible idea.

This offense is insane.

Which is exactly why he wouldn't have done it.

But in all seriousness, look at how guys were behaving. Hill was there as a decoy to draw some coverage (he does a shit job of selling his route) and Alex is just so programmed that I don't think there's any way he breaks out of the progression.

The timing on those routes is clearly Kelce as the first read, Hunt as the 2nd. Hunt is turning just as Smith would've been gathering to throw. There's a 100% chance that, with Hunt right in front of him, he'd have just pumped it to Hunt for a 3 yard gain. He'd have never even bothered to look to the either side because if he did, the window to throw to Hunt would've closed.

For Smith, that's probably the right decision because he simply isn't physically capable of freelancing and making it work. He'd have stayed within the offense, wouldn't have risked looking to his left, seeing Hill covered and having nowhere to go with it after that. Hill is out of sight, out of mind there.

With Smith at QB, 2nd and 7 from the 10. It's a drive that became a FG more often than not.

Look at that clean pocket on that throw- sweet!

If Mahomes starts getting this kind of protection on a regular basis- no team in the NFL will beat us.

He gets the ball out fast! No stopping, pumping it, thinking about it, pumping it again, thinking about it some more, then taking a sack or dumping it off like Alex.

WADR, his protection has been plenty adequate this season. Now, a lot of that can probably be attributed to him and the weapons around him that allow for light boxes, but still.

When does Mahomes ever complete a pass where the nearest defender is within 10 yards of the receiver? 2, maybe 3 times per game?

Football is an absolute joke now, and Andy Reid and the Chiefs' weapons are underscoring just how laughable it is.

When you watch Mahomes rather than actually watching box scores, you can see how objectively not impressive he is. He's Jeff Garcia with a stronger arm. Lousy mechanics, not very accurate, a bunch of jump passes to wide open guys...but that's all he has to do to put up huge numbers now.”

Sexual throw. That's also great play by the oline, especially Erving. Textbook passoff there and just great punch on one of the game's best passrushers. Boy has he made some people look silly

I mentioned this last night. Dude is undeniably the best TE for years now. Gronk hasn't been the best for some time. He's just the biggest.
