-- Let's talk about counting calories & routine

Hi Guys,

I'm up to a 36 waist - thanks to Del Taco and a few others. As well as eating pretty poorly over the last year, or so.

I'm on a strict regimen now and doing a three week diet and then merging it into a new way of life. I have a history of eating well (normally) - but, again; have been quite clumsy over the past year or so.

My plan is to limit myself to 1100 calories a day the first week, then up to 1200 the second week, and then stay on or around 1500 calories as the norm, with one cheat day per week.

After the third week - I'll get back into some sort of exercise, which too will be part of the new 'way of life'

In this thread I'd like to discuss food ideas for assisting myself (& others) with weight loss.

Since Monday I've not gone above 1100 calories/daily - I have eaten oatmeal, oranges, bananas, hard-boiled eggs and in closing, in the evening - I'll eat one of the Chick Fil A Spicy, grilled chicken wraps w/o dressing (350 cals)

I'm open to ideas - but the goal is - finding items that are a little less common and more creative.

Please assist at your leisure - anyone else need assistance or interested in jumping aboard, I welcome it.

Thanks again

Don't forget about those Jennie-O turkey burgers. Had one with avocado yesterday. I'm not really counting my calories as I normally eat pretty light during the week, but I am containing all my consumption between 11-7. The weekends will be my biggest test.

I expected to regain most of the 4.4 lbs I dropped after my down day on Sunday with my up day yesterday but I was only up around a half a pound, to 221.4 lbs. I know it's mostly water at this point but I'm okay with that.

The days I'm really going to have to watch are the ones I'm not working out. Once my kids tennis season is over, I'm going to push to work out more days per week.

If you're 6'1 and 200, you aren't eating 2000 calories... unless you're Skelator. A 2000 calorie diet is for a woman that weighs 130 lbs. to maintain her weight.

Where are you getting those numbers? Buck is about right on for BMR, depending on his age. I'm 6' 1", 190ish, and my BMR is around 1800cal/day. I'm pretty active, so my maintenance is higher due to that, but 1800ish would be my maintenance for a sedentary lifestyle.

Oh wait I jut looked at some info, better suggestion, get off your ass.

Being active can easily make 400-500cal a day difference.

Okay you guys have inspired me to track my calories now instead of later when l stop losing weight so fast. Using the “my fitness pal” app. Tied into the under armor workout app.

Burned 893 calories off today with some exercise.

Goal is to lose two lbs a week. Didn’t use 1,200 calories today to meet that goal.

Reporting in - still on task. I'd share my diet for the day - but it's quite boring. Doing well though - hope you all are too.
