Not to say I don’t think he, Hill, and Kelce don’t all kill it. I can see them all racking up 1000+. But I think Sammy is a great fit for Mahomes as a WR1. Also, I think he will see a lot of 1v1 coverage because Tyreek has to have a safety over him.
That would be really amazing. Probably not likely they all go over 1k though. Last year we had Hill, Kelce, and Hunt all go over 1k yds. That plus a 4k QB. I recall seeing a stat that the last time a team did that was the 1981 Chargers. If we did that again plus have Watkins go over 1k, that would likely be some kind of all time record for production.

Yeah Watkins is gunna rape faces in this offense and with Mahomes. So much attention will be on Hill & Kelce & Hunt in the backfield that he's gunna consistently be open...and Mahomes doesn't need a receiver to be WIDE open like Alex did.

Just stay healthy Sammy...

Notice he’s lined up in the slot too. Andy is going to continuously switch Hill, Watkins and Kelce in there.

Gonna be hard for teams to deal with. Few can even hope to try and man cover them. Maybe Jacksonville? Minnesota?

Last year I really feared a matchup with Jacksonville cause I figured they’d throw either Ramsey or Bouye on Kelce and the other on Reek and contain them pretty well with Smith left to take sack after sack.

But now, insert Watkins and Mahomes’ playmaking style and I just get excited about that game more and more. Going to be tough but we’ve got the horses to put up points on them.

I am hoping our RBs can hurt the opposing team by the air too. It seems like it was what Veach had in mind by bringing in Damien Williams and I think Reid wants to pass the ball more to Hunt.

This is why the slot wr, outside wr etc is a bit overblown here. They're gonna move guys around everywhere.

Quick feet and obviously great hands.

He is going to be fun as shit to watch when he is in 1v1 coverage and the safety moves over to Hill or Kelce

"I feel great," Watkins said. "I know what I'm doing now. I'm moving around. It's just a great feeling because I'm not just sitting at the X receiver spot on the backside looking at two-man or a double. I'm really playing against a slot (cornerback) and getting an advantage on the linebackers, getting an advantage on the safety, and those are the things that I didn't have access to (in the past), and now I do."

Can’t believe McVay didn’t play this guy in the slot hardly at all if ever. Man this guy is such a mismatch in the slot. Can’t wait to see how Andy uses this guy.
